Default Running The Engine In The Chassis

I plan on installing my engine in the chassis and running it. I'm looking for any help from those of you that have done this too. I plan on installing the core support with the radiator. I've seen large fans placed in the front of the car while it's running. I'm also going to make up a tempory dashboard with oil pressure and temperature gauges. I think a start button and kill switch should be the only other things I will need on the dashboard. The engine has been on the dyno already and is ready to run again. Looking for any ideas, tips or suggestions anyone may have.

Just curious, if it already ran on a dyno stand, why would you install it in the chassis to run it again? I think after that, you attach the transmission to it and drop it in and get it ready to go for real.

If its already been run on the dyno, why would you need to run it in the chassis? I could see if it wasn't dyno tested and you wanted to me sure it started. If it was me I wouldn't worry about it.

I used a standard distributor, coil and wires for the dyno. My car is supossed to have the T.I. Ignition. I want to install the T.I. Ignition and retune the Tri-Power Carbs since it has been sitting for nearly two years since all of the engine work and dyno was done. I will have the transmission installed too. I would like to have all of the motor work done before installing the body. I'm going to paint the body off of the car and I'm trying to minimize the amount of work after the body is on.

you mean like this !

just wire the core support to the front frame horn ext. this will keep it supported enought to run.

ln this pic you can see the wires holding the core support.

I wouldn't waste the time, put it in, finish off the car, then dress the motor afterwards.

I'm Really looking to get the Tri-Power and T.I. running correctly ahead of time.

Exactly what I did to break-in the motor after rebuild. Mounted the panel to an old ladder you see in the background. Didn't have to worry with cooling since I have a Dewitts radiator with dual fans. Just hooked them up to a jumper battery during break-in. Worked out well.

it is way easier to massage out, engine issues and tuning with no body,
vs; wait until your all done, and go opps.... whats wrong? ...need to pull the motor now!!
20 minutes and couple gauges, and battery and a jumper wire, is all you need to fire it up.
gives you that comfortable feeling, knowing your new rebuild is working 100% and ready to go.
then drop the body.
