Finally got the inspection at Tony's Corvette Shop
A great experience in Gaithersburg MD, Tony has an incredible amount of knowledge and resources to do every job correctly. The issue?? Expect to wait three months to get your car in the garage.
I had a tour of the facility, storage, dyno, all top rate. I've owned the car about a year and a half, but never had the pre-purchase inspection (oops and I don't recommend that). Tony pointed out plenty that I was was aware of, and plenty that was new. Fortunately no fatal flaws, but some that require short-term attention and could've left me waiting for a tow.
After the 5-speed installation in a few months, those long road trips should be worry-free

You are in good hands with him....Tony is great. You may have had to wait...but, the wait will be well worth it! You can also expect a call around 7 each evening of every work day your car is in his shop and a complete photo op on of your car (on CD) when you pick it up.
Stay in tune...

Buying my 1st Vette this week. Getting it "Evaluated" by Tony for $150 this Friday. Hopefully nothing crucial comes up. Getting the car for $15k. Would like to hear from you Senior members and get your thoughts. Thanks!!

Hi,
Tony's business is indeed first class ... but even more incredible to me is the amount of detailed Corvette photos he's taken over the years!!! They make my few thousand pics seem like a drop in a bucket... really, just a drop in a bucket.
Regards,
Alan

Tony said that 80-90% of cars don't pass his inspection; many potential owners leave frustrated. I'm sure he's referring to the C3's, as we all know there's a ton of junk out there.
The '02 looks good, and you won't have to worry about birdcage rust, bubba etc.
Good luck!
