Any use Back Drive Control Linkage?
Well, I can't be at home working on my car, so I've been reading the service manual.
I noticed that my car was missing a cable that should connect to the steering column. After looking up what that might be for, I found it was for the Back Drive Control Linkage.
So here is my question, does anyone still use the this and is it worth putting back on my car?
I am assuming this is a lock to lock the shifter in reverse until you put the key back in the car.
Thanks

Never heard that phrase descriping the shifter interlock but my car still has it. It was intended as a antitheft function.

Some people removed them, just to make the car easier to live with. Others removed them because the cable seized up. The cables are metal, in a metal case, and often bound up because of rust and corrosion.

Hi mb,
As long as the cable is operating freely it's a pretty straight forward installation and operation.
