Ok some help needed. As I remember to lock the ignition switch with the key inside I used to have to put the transmission in the reverse gear right ??
My problem is my ignition switch is not turning all the way back to that little notch position that says lock even with tranny in reverse or any other gear

Your Transmission Lock Cable is out of alignment. When you put the Trans in Reverse, assume its a 4 speed, it it was manual it would need to be in part. I pushes the cable and sets the steering into lock. Check it between the trans and the steering column.

Yes it's a 4 speed how would I adjust it is it in the shift console or under the car

You need to get under the car. Check the cable coming from the trans to the steering wheel shaft wing. When you shift it moves the wing all the way up. If that is broken you will need to replace it.
