I have a 1980 corvette L-82. My horn isn't working. I checked my horn by running a cable from the horn to the battery. The horn works. I checked all my fuses and they are all good under the dash. I now want to check the contacts in the steering wheel under the horn button. How do I get the circular horn cover off the steering wheel and then how do I check the wiring under the cover? Is there a relay somewhere that could go bad?

Use a thin screw driver or plastic pry tool to pry up near the emblem. If you pull on the outside, you can rip the retaining ring out of the plastic surround and then you may need a new plastic piece as the staking will no longer be effective.
