Your C3 and Vandalism...

If you're going to use your C3 as a daily driver and leave it unattended, expect all of the above. Haven't used my '72 as a DD since about 1975.
Stay with your C3 at all times and also get yourself a concealed carry permit, just in case. Don't leave home without it!

are folks on disability not allowed to drive a nice car? ive been on disability for over 10 years from an industrial accident. the comments ive seen concerning some of you act like we should all be living in the projects or standing on a street corner with a sign saying will work for food. i own a corvette and a mercedes , i guess i should be crucified too. let the negative comments begin. been hearing them for years anyway.

I had someone yank a handful of rubber hoses off, on the side of my carburetor, on my motorcycle. A few years later I had a nice lifted 4X4 truck and someone keyed the back tailgate. I will NEVER leave my C3 unattended in public. Too many people with issues walking around.

Alllllllrighty then......
I have never been vandalized, but I worry about it to the point that I won't take my Vette many places...
Would be nice to go to dinner in it, but I would worry the whole time...

Let's face it - The C3 Corvette is one of the most flashy (and gorgeous) car designs of all time -And for some reason some people see that as pretentious. Some of those people are idiots and decide take out their frustrations on cars.
Am I going to stop enjoying my car? H3ll no! I just carry the best insurance I can get and park where I want. The day the idiots start changing my behavior is the day they win.
If you don't want to get noticed, go buy an 89 Escort
My $.02

AND BACK FROM THE HIJACK...
I've got to say that the fear of getting some a-hole messing with my ride has crossed my mind in several places, to the extent that I often sit where I can see her, but I just can't think that I'd let fear dictate where I go in something I take so much joy going in.
If it gets dinged or scratched or spray painted or broken... I guess I'll have to deal with it, or more to the point Hagerty will have to deal with it, but I'm going to enjoy taking it places and because I worked too hard to get it and improve it than to let it just collect dust in the garage.
I know that's not what so many of you meant sharing your experiences, and I'm not saying that I'm not at least a little concerned every time I park it somewhere I can't watch it, but that small group of people who are destructive of other people's pride and property won't steal 1 minute of my opportunity to enjoy that car. ( I suppose I'll lose many minutes if I'm unfortuante enough to have it vandalized, but just can't let the ignorant of the world dictate my choices)
I'm more worried about rain, honestly. If it's sunny, I'm driving it, and parking it, and occasionally leaving it alone.
The camera idea is interesting, though.
For those whose cars have been damaged: I'm sorry you had that experience. It would certainly suck the big one.
