Default New owner of a 1976 stingray

Hi I'm knew the the corvette world I just bought a 1976 stingray all original except the seat belts going to be doing a SLOW full restoration as I have money. I'm 23 and couldn't be happier owning an antique corvette. Any advise on where to get parts or words of wisdom would be greatly appriciated. It's currently red with a light gray or silver interior with power windows t tops "has" a/c as well it the l48 package! Very good running car drive it almost 1hr and a half home. Thanks!

I've also had good luck with many vendors. But I always look to Willcox Corvette first, due to their top notch customer service and competitive pricing.

Here are some basic stats etc for your '76.

http://www.vettefacts.com/C3/1976.aspx

Odd that the photo they show on that page is a black vette which wasn't offered stock in '76

Welcome,

www.zip-corvette is another vette shop with excellent service. they have super fast regular shipment time. i placed a order for front airdam on saturday and i received it today on regular delivery.

it's good to see a young person appreciate classic sport car instead buying a ricer.

C3's are money pit in terms of fixing or upgrading for more performance. spend your money wisely and always ask question here first before making any kind of big purchase. you will save hundreds or even thousands on repairs of how-to from many c3 gurus here.

Welcome to the '76 club. I hope you enjoy the car.

I go to Willcox first and then to Ecklers.

Appreciate those sites guys. I'll be digging three them quite a bit. As for money pits I hope it's not going to be to terribly on me I've had several camaros that about killed me and I never got them rite. This one runs great I drove about 1 1/2hrs home in it yesterday with the t tops out until it started pouring. My main problem is interior and paint. The motor is in great shape as well as the transmission. Seems to me if I buy all new interior I'm looking at a few thousand dollars. How hard are interior pieces to get used?

Another 76 is always welcome. Use the search function to find threads on dying interior parts. It will save you a lot of money plus if the parts are original, they will fit better than aftermarket.

There should be a rule about intros without photos! Pictures???

Get an AIM http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000050G

And a Shop Service Manual http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000050G

Search the forums, and if you can't find the answer, ask a lot of questions on here.

Welcome and good luck with your new vette.
