Default Power Steering Pump Belt Guard

Does anyone have a picture of this piece mounted on the steering pump?

http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....~Z5Z5Z50000050

I am fabricating one out of sheet metal, and need to see what the bracket looks like when looking down on the steering pump.

That's interesting. What's it's purpose?

Jeremy,
Doc Rebuild's parts book says the following :
PS Belt Guard 6670550
All 63-67 327 w/air conditioning and all 68-77 327 or 350.

No hint as to why the 1978-82 engines did not require the guard. Fourteen years is a long time for it to be used, so there must be a reason. Possibly a broken belt could disrupt other belts. If you are not using AC possibly you don't need it.

from my 73 L-48

Note the spacers between the head and the alt. bracket. Without the spacers, the belt would rub against the pump guard. I'm sure that this is not stock, but it does the trick.

Thanks for that picture, I just bought a 73 and the belt does rub with no spacer. I wondered if I could put in a spacer but also wonder if there is something stock that's e is missing.

I actually purchased a new pump & Bracket, thinking that there was something wrong with the original. The second pic shows the new pump and bracket(s) installed.

Also, without the spacers, the Alt. pulley does not line up properly with the other pulleys.
I am thinking of going to a little bit shorter belt, to get it further (higher) away from the guard.
