I play bass in 2 big bands. I hadn't had a major project to work on since getting the Vette on the road in 2010 so I decided to build this last year.

During that ride I did aerobatics and my pilot took us out to 1.22 Mach or about 860mph! Nowadays I'm relegated to 180hp Cessna 172s.

My biggest hobby is writer/photographer for Warbird Digest magazine which I've been doing since 2007. In the last six years I've flown in and/or with Corsairs, P-51s, Wildcats, Avengers, SNJs, and a Val dive bomber replica that was used in Tora! Tora! Tora! Even my wife got an Avenger ride about a month ago! I've also met and interviews many veteran pilot from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam some of whom were my childhood heroes.

Airplanes and Corvettes...never remember a time when I did not love them!

I am with ya there Chappie. My son in laws grandfather Robert McCall did all of the still artwork for Tora Tora Tora, 2001 A Space Oddesy and the Star Trek movies. He also designed the patches for the NASA missions.

Hey Skip. Tora Tora Tora is one of the top aviation/war movies in my opinion. Its been an honor to fly in that Val three times and photograph twice! I even logged some stick time. It was my photo plane with I did a air-to-air photo shoot with an FM-2 Wildcat.

If you like warbirds check out Warbird Digest! The newest issue has my story on Col Charles McGee- a Tuskegee Airman who flew a record 409 combat missions in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Myself and the CAF organized a flight for him in a BT-13 that was painted like one he flew in Tuskegee in 1943.

Shoot me an email sometime and I'll send you a few photos. I'm not smart enough or patient enough to learn how to post them here.

My most expensive hobby would have to be flying, despite every captain I've ever talked to who have tried to steer me away from doing it professionally. Maybe one day.

I build customized models, mostly aircraft and some cars. I like to build them for specific people or life events, but sometimes just do it to challenge myself. The following are some of the customized aircraft I built in the last several years.....

1/32 F-16CJ (award winner)....

1/72 WC-130J for my wife's current base (Keesler AFB)....

1/72 AC-130U for my office (when I was stationed at Hurlburt Fld, FL)....

1/72 B-52H for me (when I was stationed at Castle AFB, CA. This was the name of my B-52 when I was the crew chief....

1/48 F-16CJ for my son who is a Maintenance Officer at Misawa....

1/144 C-17 for my wife's Afghanistan deployment....

Flying R/C...

My main interest is building scale helicopters:

Though I also do planes...

Also did R/C off road racing for a while, but sold everything off. Just not as much fun as flying.

Then there's motorcycles, guns, etc., etc....
