grateful rookie.
My cousin has had an agent orange related leukemia, but he has been lucky, his body reacts opposite to any case his doctors have ever seen.
He is currently a case study and the doctors are writing a book based on his treatment, hopefully their findings may help in a cure for others.

Default "Funny Story" :(smilie toe tap):

Speaking of Veteran's care/"Funny story": There are signs at the Clinic on every wall stating "If you have not been consulted within 20 minutes of your appointment please notify someone".

Not being one to bother other people,I waited an hour past my appointment to ask someone what the problem was. The Employee took my name and.....................15 minutes later returned to inform me that the DOCTOR had ALREADY seen me!

Now.....I'll be the first to admit that I have BAAD DAYS.....but.....NOT THAT BAAD!

I then informed the DOCTOR that I WAS ME/produced MY I.D.,and she said TO ME...................................... ........................................ .................
........................................ ........................................ ...................
........................................ ........................................ ...................
........................(wait forrrrrrrrrrr it)..................................... ........

........................................ ........................................ ...................
........................................ ........................................ ...................
........................................ ........................................ ........................................ ................................
"THEN------WHO DID I SEE????????????"

Ya' just can't make this stuff up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and we wonder why we're $18,000,000,000,000 in debt

Not a bad idea, how bout if it was metal instead then laminated in place with glass? Wonder if that would be ok?

I'll print out your reply and use it as my guide.

EDIT: I was using "gusset" the wrong way.....I meant "fiberglass support" that the gusset fits in the bottom of.

It's been a learning experience!!! The PTSD really set me back nearly 4 months. It sounds like you've got lots of work going on!

Those front fiberglass "nose" pieces you sent me will get put on soon.

MORE BODY MOUNT REPAIR

It'sa good thing DUB talked me into doing the repair the right way....I found a nasty vertical crack inside the body support that needs repairing also.

I had to remove the driver-side hinge assembly and drill out rivets....

I taped the insideof the metal re-enforcement toprevent the fiberglass from sticking to it/then thoroughly sanded the area inside the mount.......then I pressed the re-enforcement into place under the body...................

Good thing I waited for the metal re-enforcements as DUB said.....I NEVER would have discovered the crack in the left-rear inside corner and never would have formed the inside fiberglass radius' correctly!

I will use a few small screws to hold the metal re-enforcement in place.

I made this per DUB so the repair will have a smooth flat bottom for the bolt and thick washer to seat against.................

After applying 5 layers of fiberglass cloth and resin and letting it cure for three hours I added a nice coat of satin black to hide al my sloppiness.......(I should have let it cure overnight before painting, but it should cure from the bottom up since I didn't paint that area.................................... ..

Next I need to bead-blast all the inside metal parts and repaint them before I rivet and bolt everything back into place..........

LOL...Stout/YES....the base of the repaired support is nearly 1/4" thick and 5 full layers wrapping the entire interior walls and base.....and flat as you advised.

I'll do the same to the passenger #4 mount tomorrow (hopefully).

So, DUB.....thanks again!

Me too.....Dub walked me through it......I printed-out his procedure and followed it as much as a rookie could...LOL!

It took 3 hours from start to finish on the disassembly, body support prep, fitting the metal re-enforcement correctly, and fiberglassing the area.

I still have a couple hours of blasting metal pieces and re-painting them...installation will take only about an hour to rivet and bolt in the painted parts.
