Good afternoon all from Sunny California. I'm on a Vacation spending time with the Kids and Grand kids. I'll be back in Texas on Wednesday and back to working on the 73. I did some work last week that I will report on once back Home...

Last week before I went to Calif, I worked on the gauges, got them all working...

Got off work early today and stooped by Tractor supply. Picked up all the mounting bolts I need to hook the body to the sub frame. Not going to use the new bolts with the new body cushions. I'm using the neoprene set that I'm not going to use. they will stay with rotisserie sub frame when I sell it.

I still need to make a front mount to attach to the Radiator mounting points... some 1 1/2" angle should work so I'll go pick up 10' tomorrow.

Hi Pete,

this project has made a few turns from the beginning, First I was going to stay with a Big block, I then seen some Restro mods and plan on doing some road trips with it so I decided a LS motor was the route I wanted to go. I was planing on going with the 454 LS but the cost was a bit much. I had a LS block I was using to mock up and get motor mount making sure it was all fitting correctly I also had a old 4l60E I picked up. One day they had a sale on the LS3 525HP version. The engine was complete and almost turn key and would not need to do any work on it and could put my energy to other I parts of the build. Once I got the Crate Motor I became sick that but me back over a year.

I'm now ok but my Job has me traveling a lot so I'm glad I went in that direction.

Tim

Just wanted make a update. I have been doing a lot of work on the 73. Just not much to post.. I finished the power steering lines and filled up with fluid. Lots of fiberglass work under the Daytona front end to fit it all up to the front bumper lower valance air dam panel.

Jeff to you have a build thread? a few questions on your build. How are you going to deal with the heater lines? Also it appears your power steering pump pulley is very close to your a arm. It also looks like you have no shims in the arm for alignment. Once you get to that stage you might have issues.

Tim,
no build thread yet, maybe later? As far as the p/s pulley clearance, there is over 3/4" to the a arm bolt. I think the angle of the photo makes it look closer.
The a arms have a couple of shims installed right now, just as a guess. The a arms are Global West tubular and have additional caster built in so I'm just eyeballing it right now.
keep up the good work, your car is looking great!

Probably going to weld in fittings on the water pump as you did, saw you had some leakage when hey were just tapped and threaded in. Confirmed my direction and plan.

Yes I did had leakage before I went to weld on bung's I have had water in my rad for a few months with no leakage. The metal is very thin for sealing if taped. I used AN- fittings and presently have plugs at the end on the fittings. once I put the body back on the frame I will fit the black braided lines to the heater.
