Here's one that's appeared in many publications so it's not rare.
But there are lots of interesting things to be seen in it!

These appeared on the internet a while back. St. Louis during 1981 production.

Cameras were not allowed in the plant. Most assembly line photographs were taken by GM photographers as pictures of record for GM.

In the series of pics above, note that no working staff are shown; the assembly line appears not to be moving.

Noland Adam's has a series of assembly line photographs in his books.

Peter LiCastro also has some in his book.


The building directly behind the water tower is the Corvette Building.

I didn't notice the radiator hose, that's really interesting. I have "heard" that the AIM is in some kind of assembly order? I notice the car in front has its rear bumpers, but the white car does not (though it already has its front bumpers). It appears you can see the rear bumpers waiting for installation on the far side of the car next to the driver door. Nor does it have its door panels or rear valance.
