Default what colors were 1973's painted and what %'s

I'm curious if there is any information out there on just how many different colors were available from the factory on the 1973's and how many of each of those colors were produced. Mine is painted in Elkhart Green and I have yet to see another one in person. Just wondering....

Here are a few decent site that provides many facts on the Corvettes in multiple model years unfortunate none of them have the amount of each color produced for your model year.

I can help you with the colors, but not the %, I don't know if they even kept track of how many got painted which color in 1973
(they did have the quantities, for 1972, however, and Elkhart Green was the most popular with 4,200 cars painted that color)

CODE COLOR
910 Classic White
914 Silver
922 Medium Blue
927 Dark Blue
945 Blue-Green
947 Elkhart Green
952 Yellow
953 Metallic Yellow
976 Mille Miglia Red
980 Orange

Regards
Roy

'73 no @'a on colors..
Mine is painted in Elkhart Green
In '69 I bought my Schwinn 10 - speed in a very similar color,
and when I see Elkhart Green, it's like a flashback...

I guess alot of the original Ekharts went to re-sale red. shame.
'73 and '74 color.

Here's a link to a nice Elkhart LT1 for sale on this site - just in case -

My 73 also is or was Elkhart Green before the nasty black with some sort of metal-flake was sprayed over it.

73 colors are known, but there is no information on percentages. Search the archives here. A few years back a gentleman was compiling a list of colors for 73s he ran across and had enough data to put together some percentages based on what he had found.

100% of my 73 is painted the original Elkhart Green; some spots better than others.

I would never have chosen that color but will never change it. Like mold, it grows on you.

That was funny about the mold.
Mine is still original paint too. I do have some light spots as well by the rear window. It still shines nicely.

That 953 met yellow is pretty rare for 73's....seen maybe 4 in 35 years

At the corvette body shop ... If five c2 came in for restoration .....at least 3 left painted red ..... One black and one white.....sometimes a blue would stay blue ......could it be 50 % of all 66 corvettes are red today. LOL

Green and Yellow were very popular in the day.......

Back in 72 ,I ordered a 73 ,and I wanted black ,they would not paint one black ,said the fiberglass was not good enough for that color ,so I bought one with metallic yellow, now my 72 ,if you look real close ,I can see across the back by the rear window and see rip pals in the fiberglass!!!

This question, which has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, is posted in answer to a post that has been inactive for 2 years.

Please send the member a PM and ask him your question, thanks.
