Default Old Picture: 4 New 71s, Pre-Delivery

Hi,
Here's a picture a good friend sent me. It was given to him by a friend of his that worked at this dealership. Luby Chevrolet in Boston.
It was taken in February of 1971 on the roof of the building where cars were stored. The dealership went out of business in 1978, but the building is still there.
Two 454 coupes, an Lt-! coupe, and a base engine convertible!!!
4 Nice cars. Maybe they all are still around?
Regards,
Alan

Notice the fit of the right side headlight door on the convertible! Maybe when the car was started the actuator pulled it back down?

Hi JLR,
I believe the rings and center caps were behind the seat until the dealer prepped the car for delivery.

Alan

Hi bv,
I think they're the wrong colors too.
Or has yours been repainted a different color than it was originally?
Regards,
Alan

If they are, I'm heading down there to do some shopping. It will give me something to do when it's zero degrees out..

Hi dd,
I noticed the same thing.... I thought maybe it was rock salt that was used back then to melt the ice and snow?
Certainly are some serious stains in any case!

Alan

Yep. Caps and trim rings shipped with the car in the rear compartment. Ditto for the optional P02s. Antennae were also shipped with the car and were to be installed by the dealer.

That part of the lot with all the fluids and speedi dry looks like the Used Car portion of the lot where a bunch of Mustangs had been sitting. HAHA!

Trim rings yeah but if we could go back, wouldn't you want the whole car?!

I know you would and I woulda begged you to take me so I could lay hands on one, too. Then again, if we could time travel, think of the possibilities of all we know now... hmmnn.

I also see portions of: 2 Impalas (gold one looks older, '69 maybe), a Nova with a vinyl top (never cared for those tops), a Camaro next to that, and a Chevelle behind the Chevy II.

The Nova is an SS 350 car with auto and AC. The Camaro is a base model 6-cyl w/auto and AC.

Just messin' around... I don't know whether those cars are automatics or sticks.

IF the build quality in 71 was as poor as it was in 74 then I'm not surprised at all the kitty litter in the photo. My 74 was thrown together. Don't get me wrong, though. It was the love of my life.

Nice as always. So, which one would you take? I love big blocks with a four speed but I would take the LT-1. mike...
