Default Picked up a Z06 tonight

The LT-1 was lonely!

I brought home a low mile '02 Z06 tonight. I gotta say, damn this thing is fun to drive! Haven't had a ticket in 3 years, that may change soon. I bought this for its "drive anywhere" ability along with a desire to do some track days with PDX or HPDE.

Nice! I know what you mean about the 'drive anywhere' feeling. The closer we get to being on the road with our '69 the more I think about not having air bags and AC, oh, and no room for the girls (our 2 little dogs) to ride with us I love the '69 but our '05 had a few little options I miss too. Enjoy your new ride!

Those are some fun cars! A few yrs ago I had a chance to take a ride in a C5 Z06 with a test car driver for GM at the Yuma Proving Grounds. We entered the skid pad at 90 mph at which point, he threw it into a 360' spin, drove out of it and did a bunch of drifting. Then He dropped me off and another club member took a ride. We were told these were stock cars, routinely driven in this manner with only tires and brakes wearing out. The cars are built to be driven. I also went along in a C6 about 3 times. What a thrill!
I've auto crossed my own C4, but never approached the speed or ability level of what a professional driver does.
Have fun!

The Z06 is a great car to drive. I bought a 2001 2 years ago and love it. I drive my C3s on the weekends, and occasionally on a Friday to work. But we take the Z06 for longer trips, or when we want to go cruise in comfort. And the stock speed in this thing is great.

I agree, I can't believe the performance per $ this car has. Just reading about it on Wikipedia is impressive. Driving it is more fun than I thought 25k could buy

I'm putting a modded version of this engine in my 74. Z06 performance, old school style!
