Spent about two hours installing the factory spark plug heat shields on the car's 350 this morning. Found some attaching bolts easier to put in from engine's top, others from the bottom. Number 6-8 going in made me remove the NEG battery cable: It's bolt was just too close to the Starter's hot wires and the socket wrench for comfort. Those dudes are hot all the time, right?
Yep, or adjust your brake pedal switch. Your hand is forced into positions that you've never dreamed of, and all the while, you're laying with your back on the door sill, feet on the ground, head on the floorboard and an arm angling in the dash. Thank God for beer in the fridge!
Worst Job I ever did was replace the outer door handles on my 81. A day later I went to pay for something and the cashier asked if I was mauled by a dog. My hand was covered in cuts and scratches! and I'm a small guy, I can't imagine someone with big hands even fitting in the small openings.
Now go change your power brake booster or outer door handles !
Funny, when I read the title of this thread I pictured my recent R&R of the PB booster. I think my shoulders and arms are still cramping from that. On the bright side, the rear deck behind the seats made a great resting spot for my lower legs.

When I bought this '73 project, the driver's outer door mechanism was totally missing; just a gaping hole. Latching mechanism (3 screw attachment) was missing off the door's edge too. It was one of my prouder moments of accomplishment to get it all assembled and working. Took me a few days. I don't think I could ever get that lucky again.
Brake Booster eh? Thank God no problems with the brakes.
It's pretty easy to abuse myself at age 59. All I have to do is think about it and something starts to hurt. Not sure now if I want to tackle the job after reading the above but I have to do some work on my driver's door handle. It made a crunching noise when I opened it last summer and I heard some small parts tinkling their way down inside. The handle doesn't do anything now. I've been avoiding the repair by leaving the window down when it's parked in my shop and opening the passenger door to open the driver's door when I park outside.

Hey! You're younger than me, so I know you can do it.
I got as many parts breakdown diagrams as I could (Thanks Willcox!), and then I just sat down and looked at all the pics, buying the parts I didn't have, trying to fit them into where it looked like they went, and after two days of that....it was all together. Advantage you; everything is assembled on your car-I had nothing to start with. Give it a go! Lotza help here to get you thru it.
I sincerely hope it's one of those jobs where I avoid it like the plague, then finally do it and it turns out to be a piece of cake and I wonder why the heck I waited.
I usually keep quiet about my aches and pains when the Old Boy (my dad) is around. He'll be 85 in a few months. I'm 25 years younger but he's still more flexible than I am. I can't figure out how he does it. He's had a blast being retired the last 20 years and has been blessed with good health. I have a page with a few of his toys on my personal website http://gofastgarage.com/the_old_boy.htm
I usually bang my head on something and scrape my hands at the knuckles on some concrete before I start working on my car. I get it out of the way because it is going to happen.
