Default 1977 Corvette Mirror

Just got a 1977 Corvette! The drivers side mirror is loose. Can the mirror be taken apart and tightened up? The mirror moves around while driving.

Yes but it depends what part is loose. Take the door panel off roll the window all the way down and there are two nuts that will remove the mirror and gasket from the door. Under the gasket there is two more screws that hold the mirror head together. Those screws may be loose causing the mirror to move or the ball and socket may be worn out. Just make sure when you put the mirror on the door you have the gasket turned the right way or the mirror will be tilted up toward the window.
Hope that helps you out.

From what I've gathered in the short time I've been a member here it's likely the ball/socket: if it is that for you then no, it can't be fixed. Most just get the mirror oriented the way they want it and drop some superglue on the ball, sticking it in place.

My right side mirror is doing the same thing. I like your idea set the mirror to my liking, put on a little drop of glue and I'll be go to go.

Not my idea, just something I've read that others have done.

Hadn't seen that before. Way better than superglue.
