Obviously RARE and worth a gazillion!
After tearing out my carpet tonight I found this neatly stuffed in the holes where (what appears to be) a rear body mount bolt comes into the cabin. It's obviously something from the space shuttle that increases the value of my 1976 to more than the cost of a new 2014. I'll sell it to you for one million dollars.
Seriously, was this something the prior owner shoved in there or has someone out there come across this when replacing their carpet as well?
PS. I'm firm on the million.

I found those holes filled with expanding insulation foam on my '78.

It is household carpet padding manufactured and used up until the early 70's. After that carpet padding was changed over to the recycled product still in use.

By the looks of it you finally found Bubbas Brain! Little flatened out from all those years under the carpet but still none the less for wear. I've been wondering where he left it!
Please skip the million and give it back to him...we need him to stop all of those fixes!

This thread reminded me of an eBay auction for NCRS mouse turds that the seller found in his heater core. He clamed that they were factory and the the Q&A section went on for pages debating if these were factory or aftermarket mouse turds or if indeed they were from mice. Pretty funny.

So.......are you saying that the glass Coca Cola bottle that started rattling in the passenger's rear quarter panel of my new '69 Camaro Convertible was only worth the $.02 return?
(And to think that Bubba worked on the GM assembly line for a few months!)

Not to be too contrary to the group but I would say pack it neatly back where it was. It was probably an effective way to do some sound deadening filling those places with the foam. That is done on C5s sometimes to help stop noise.
