Default Quick exhaust system question....

Would a stock 1971 (350 auto) exhaust system fit a 1973 (350 auto)?
It seems like they would be the same....

If you look at Corvette Central they seem to be the same.

323381 1970-1974 2 1/2" Round Muffler
323519 1968-1974 2" 2 1/2" Auto SB Front Exhaust Pipe
323520 1968-1974 2 1/2" Auto Intermediate Pipe

Hi,
I believe while the pipes are the same there's a slight difference in the STOCK 73 muffler design so the 73 requires a 1 year only chrome tip different from the 70-72 chrome tip.

Alan

To me this kind of question is about what you desire,
in general many parts like exhaust from 68-82 will interchange, okay before you start flaming me, they will interchange with mods ranging from none to big... for example a set of hooker side pipes , yeah , I know afteramrket, will fit 68-82 but the job will change depending on year...so if you are cool with mods it's okay but if you are more into the stock way the car came factory then you are stuck....

Thanks Alan & 13 Bats -

My project is more of a resto-mod or "FrankenVette" (due to PO involvement) & $$$ being what it is- I take what I can get.

Just happy to save my C3 & get it back on the road as a "DRIVER"...

the 73 mufflers are round and the 71-72 are oval. also the chrome tips are different because the discharge from the muffler is in a different location.one is more centered while the other is to the side. if you want to use the oval type muffler on your 73 use the 71-72 tips. this allows the mufflers to be more hidden than stock 73 mufflers.
