What did you do to your C3 today?

Well yesterday I fixed the window regulator gear with that gear repair kit. Getting the regulator in and out was a lot easier than I thought it would be after reading forum entries. Then got it ready for a cruise and discovered a crack on the windshield

Hi Shok, there not difficult to fit, you just have to make up some adapters
to mount the seat sliders to. If you pm me with your email addy, I will send
you a pdf copy of the drawings, so you can have a set laser cut and bent
for accuracy.

More exhaust stuff-
Got a bunch more stuff from Summit-
Their SS V-band clamps were a little over $30 apiece- and was surprised how really nice they were. Other name brand clamps are on the plus side of $60 and looked the same.
I'm using the Supertrapp muffler discs to help with the sound level when not running the straight pipes.
Turned down the "insinkerator" to fit inside the 4" SS "muffler"
pipe- perfed SS sheet metal w/ fiberglass exhaust material ( One big a$$ Cherry bomb!!!)
Here's a test fit...instead of the green wire - I'm going to use some SS 304 wire...
The tips are 2½" clamp on from Summit. SS 304 polished and were only like $25/each- seems to be really nice stuff.
I will incorporate the clamp-bolt on the tips to hold the bracket /insulator to the frame.
And - yes - it fits under the Factory look fiberglass covers. Plan on wrapping the pipes w/ some Thermo-tec heat shielding.

Got my Vette back in Jan. and I try to do some little something to it everyday . Today I removed the starter and replaced with a new one! Then I plugged in the jump box and hit the key and spun the motor over under power for the first time in the last 5 years minimum! Then I went and bought spark plugs and new valve cover gaskets and grabbed my compression tester from my tool box at work ! Next up is a compression test for all cylinders then plugs , pull the fuel line from the tank , prime the carb and see if it will run !

Getting closer to figuring out my sidepipes....
I'll use a V-band clamp on the 2½" straight pipe to connect the 4" muffler "cover."
Inside I'll have some stainless steel baffles and then a long (almost 2 ft) glasspack-
Get the welding done- drill about 40 1/4" holes in the pipe and figure out the electric cut-out set up on the end of the muffler...
Got my 4" stainless steel discs today-
slow drilling w/ a holesaw and lots of water- turned them into some really big SS washers!!!
Straight pipe through the muffler- V-band ferrules and the SS "washer" for the end caps of the muffler will be welded
2½" V band clamp will fit under 69 factory covers
Perfed will be wrapped w/ exhaust packing-have an idea how to mount the Suppertrap baffles turned in to spirals.
Slide on the 4" muffler cover- clamp it- slide in the baffles/spirals and then the glasspack- All stainless steel and serviceable-

Miata seats
Would you mind sharing your pdf with me too? I think your seats looks fantastic in the Vette and to find a pair of Miata seats was not that hard.
I was going to use some others seats but now when see yours they match the car better than the ones I was thinking of.

here's my list from today:
prepped, re-enforced & re-fiber-glassed a crack that was previously "fixed" by one of the Bubba's that owned my vette before me. They layed marine woven fiberglass cloth on top of a 10" crack in the floor and never sanded the old fiberglass before install. I ripped the "repair" off with 2 hands, it never bonded to the floor just cured on top of it?
- prepped and re-fiber-glassed a broken hood tip (@ 3" snapped off) that I stepped on when my hood was leaning against the wall on its side.
- installed my newly rebuilt 750 carb
- installed new 2 sided intake vac manifold "tee" and installed new brake booster and headlight vac source lines.
- finished re-routing and looming all the loose wires on my firewall
that was all I could muster in 8 hours, earlier in the week I spend 2-3 hours a night after work cleaning my window tracks and lubing them with lithium grease as well as replacing old burnt power window wire pig tails with new ones and testing the lines for continuity from the new pigtail to the switch. afterwards I re-installed the door panels that "bubba" had installed wrong. thats all I could muster in 9 hours.
Plan for this week coming is to re-install the carpet, center console, battery, replace all the old glass fuses with new & re-install the seats.
plans for later in the week include re-bonding my lower drivers side door skin, it popped on the lower rear corner,re-install the drivers side, side pipe.
I guess I have a form of OCD or I am just to forgetful as I age because I make lists on my dry erase board in the garage of things to do and wipe them off as I go ( makes me fell like I am doing something), problem is every time I get the board wiped clean I fill it up again with things to do?

Today I finished up replacing the radiator and fans in my '75.
The original radiator was leaking pretty bad so I replaced it with a 3 core aluminum radiator. At the same time replace the OEM fan with dual electric, replaced the alternator, and cleaned up some of the non-functional emission equipment.
Had a buddy help and we spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the wiring.

Tach needle replacement
Finally got around to fixing the broken tach needle that I'd been putting off since buying my '70. I read several threads debating whether or not you have to pull the whole dash to get the tach or speedo out. Turn out you don't have to pull the whole dash or remove the steering column as some people claim. Removing the driver's seat is worthwhile since it's just four easy bolts.

Removed a big bulky Mallory coil that had 3 zip ties holding it in place. I then installed a stock style bracket and coil and went on a 45 minute cruise and all work as it should.

Thursday I realized the rear alignment wasn't right, so I put it up on jack stands and readjusted the rear camber. Then this morning, I drove over to a friend's house to help him work on his garage door and after, we took the Corvette out to eat lunch.
Then this evening after more work around the house, I took the Corvette out to the Classic Cruisers Cruise Night at the old Albertson's on Silver Springs Blvd.
