New floormats this weekend. I got the black rubber reproduction mats that are identical to the (worn out) ones I had. The ones I had were apparently a dealer add on, but I wanted the new ones to look the same. I bought them from Paragon and they are an exact match.

Drove by the shop to pay a visit to my car, Looking forward to getting her back next week after vacation with a rear end that is not falling apart.

Upgraded my stock seat belts to a set of conversion 3-point retractor systems.
Went in fairly simply.
Only had a couple of issues with rusted/seized bolts, both at the rear retractors, and then a few that secure the lap belt re-router plates at the rocker/floor interface.
So nice now, not having to fiddle with the frustrating lap belt slack adjuster, as well as the key-hole locking shoulder belt.
These came through Corvette Central, originating at Seat Belt Solutions - ran me $140 complete with lots of redundant hardware.

Last night: replaced my distributor advance weights and springs. No springs were lost and I didn't poke my eye out. So I figured while I was on a roll, I'd fix my non-functional cold-start fast idle cam thingy. Success! The car now idles at 1500rpm or so on cold-start.
2 for 2 and no trip to the emergency room! I figured I'd quit while ahead and settled in to watch the end of the Yankee game.
Next up tonight: re-position the fuel tank. Whoever restored this car ('72 LT-1 vert) missed by about an inch. The fuel cap sits about an inch too far rearward. Why why why???

Just back from finishing hurricane repairs to our vacation home in Turks, and noticed that my Rear Window Molding Clips had arrived. Only had to replace about half of them...... I have to say that with a little patience and some finessing, they all went in smoothly - without removing the rear window on my '79.

Fired my 72 coupe up and drove to doctors apt. It's my "go to car" for around town errands if the the weather is nice. Never fails to put a smile on my face!

Dropped the fuel tank and found out it was collapsing under vacuum! PO plugged up the vent port AND installed a sealed fuel cap. Ugh! Was able to pry the tank back into shape and re-installed it.

Removed the left door glass and window regulator. Putting in new parts and Dynamat insulation inside and on the inner door panel.
Pulled the window sashes and channels in an effort to clean the old grease out. Dirty dirty stuff.

Yes, once corroded like that, they tend to corrode under the seals and leak, no matter how much you try cleaning them up.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Good luck.

I took mine off to meet a friend for breakfast and then over to the Corvette Club of Marion County and Elks Lodge Car Show.

Walked past it a few times throughout the day as I mixed 24 bags of concrete and poured a pony wall in the front yard.

Replaced the A pillar ws and rear window ws. Adjusted the newly installed door glass. Installed new leather door panel. The power door left switch decided to break in the process. CHEAPLY MADE REPRODUCTION PART FOR SURE.
Still haven't cleaned the windows and door panels after installation but here are some pictures anyway.`
