Burning Brakes
Removed old clock. Added in place an Air/fuel ratio guage, welded in o2 sensor and pulled heater core for repair. Getting too cold for me.

HA- finally my sidepipe-muffler-exhaust cut-outs under the factory covers plan is coming together!!!
Figured out how to attach the muffler around the 2½" straight pipes-
4" fitting w/ 2½" Vband fitting- all stainless steel.
Got some 4" pipe cut about and 1½" piece- then split it up to 6 pieces. Made it look pretty- radiused the edges and welded it to the end fitting. Drilled and tapped- will change the screws to SS button caps.
I added some mounts to fit the factory holes in the frame rails- I used Stainless works pieces and cut them down a bit-
Here it is all together-
And it easily breaks down- to change the muffler insert-
Whats left???
I still need to drill some holes in the 2½" pipe- at the front of the muffler and at the rear- then add the electric cut-outs.
Here's how I will make them fit right next to the frame rails
I will remote mount the motors with a flex 1/4 drive piece. Then I'll use some bronze bushing for the exhaust butterfly-
And here's my original drawing-

Now if there was a commericia advertisement for PegBoards, you sir would be recieving royalty checks. Thats cool... Make me wanna go PEG my entire garage...
Go Saints...

I finally was able to move extra shipping boxes around enough to catch up on a years work with the garage, since Winter is on it's way. Parts are temporarily put on the walls to allow room to work on the car.
Since the brake booster failed and my back is still untreated I had to use plan B to get the car into the garage. I was concerned that the toe/tow strap would fail, but it held up!
Don't cha' just love the way the hardtop can be lowered and raised with an electric winch (per the ideas of expert members....I think I burned the clutches in the tow vehicle/it was smoking pretty good by the time I pulled the car earward a foot or so to line up with the hardtop hanging from the ceiling....
It's an optical illusion, but I have about 10 feet in front of the car once all the spare boxes are placed in the loft..........................
I have enough room to roll the wheel chair on both sides of the car as I do repairs. It doesn't get much better (on Earth ) unless my back gets better....... .......

Major updates
I had engine tuned, new temp sensors installed, new front end steering assembly installed, new rear bearings, new auto tran seal, new shocks and just finished rebuilding and upholstering pass seat. (OK, it took longer than 1 day to do this!!!) Hi Alan!

Well it did take longer than a day but lately I knocked out a couple of things. My body has been stored in my side yard and that makes it a pain to work on. I decided that if I made a rack for the body I could move it into the garage and place it over the completed chassis. The chassis is on dollies so I can slide it out of the way (after moving out the wife's car) and then have access to the body. To celebrate this new-found convenience I removed what was left of the rusted-out seatbelt from the drivers side. it was a mess but got it with no fiberglass damage. Next is to remove all the metal reinforcement plates from the underside of the body. Pictures are the rack by it self then a couple of views with the body on the rack and the chassis nestled underneath. Then before and after of seatbelt.

The gaskets were as hard as bricks and found out the alternator was bad when she died on the road. The car is mostly original (a little over 59,000 miles). The idle is a little rough when it first starts (which is probably the coolant temp sensor...read it's usually the cause of idling issues). She runs fine once she's at full operating temp.

Good days work
Today was very satisfying with my “new” 1975 C3. Removed the old carpet and insulation. No surprises except seat belt bolts are almost welded thru floor with rust. Ground off heads and soaked them with penetrating oil. Found a bad fuse for the gauges, so they all respond with the ignition switch! Realigned the doors to body lines as close as possible without taking the whole dash apart to get to hinges. And removed the tape residue where plastic was taped over pax compartment. All in all, a good day with a NEW C3.

Turned on the heater blower for the first time in months.....it raised hell, buzzing like a chainsaw.....
pulled the wheel, removed the rigged/temp fender liner, and stuck some go to HELL bolts in the motor mounts to the HVAC housing....
drop out NOW, bitch.......

I knitted some socks for my exhaust....used Basalt yarn...
OK- I was looking for some heat shield for my custom SS pipes and found some Federal Mogul Thermflex Knitted Exhaust Sleeves. Supposedly great for a heat shield as it's used on turbo applications.
Fit's perfect and like it a lot better than the wrap stuff.

The other day I found a huge puddle of red fluid (trans or power steering) on the garage floor under my 81 Corvette. Puddle ran about 6 ft under the center of the car so I could not tell from where it was sitting where the leak might be. So today I drove the car out of the garage and moved it onto my 4 post hoist in the adjacent rv bay. Put it up on the hoist and still can't tell where its coming from other than the transmission. There was some oil on the passenger side exhaust pipe so I'm hoping the fluid came out the over fill? No obvious leaks anywhere.

Finally decided to pull the driver side dash far enough to reach the guage bulbs and replaced them with green led bulbs. Much more brighter.
