Got the valve covers back from power coating a while ago and finally finished polishing the fins and got them re-installed.
All the wiring is done and the various coolant and vacuum hoses are back on and I think I'm actually close to starting it up and seeing what new problems I've created

Maybe next weekend

Removed the map pocket panel, park brake cover and console so that I could pull back the center gauge cluster bezel. To check the stupid oil pressure gauge, make sure it's still hooked up correctly and not kinked. All was good, ran the car about 5 minutes, idle and rev, gauge seems to be working properly now. The line might have been getting caught between the driver's lower panel and the center gauge bezel causing some weird readings; I used some wire tie to 'help' it stay free before I closed everything back up. Will drive tomorrow and see.

The box is big with lots of packing to keep it tight and protected.
The speed shop I purchased it from had an MSD distributor in a tiny box on the shelf next to it.
The tiny box was for a sbc MSD.
Rightfully so.

Got all my old carpet and what was left of the old insulation, it wasn't much...

Almost half done in a evening! Glad I worked on my old foxbody before this car, I wouldn't have had the experience with how many screws and layers of stuff there are in older cars.

Installed 10" wide wheels in the back and skinnies up front. Replacing the front wheels shaved 80 lbs off the front of the car. Also installed thick tubed half shafts with Spicer u-joints, and installed 4.11 gears.

I got my new gas cap- then modified it to fit-

Take off of a 2018 Dodge Challenger...yes, a MOPAR gas cap.

I just used a heat gun to take off the emblem and turn it 90º

Picked up the new MSD 6AL box, MSD coil, coil bracket and distributor gear for my 496.
Ordered the Edelbrock water pump and timing cover today.
That's about it for the motor, except for a few minor items.
Time to move on to the new TKO-600 and conversion kit from auto to manual.
The fun never ends.
