Changed both my battery cables, the positive cable was no fun!

Glad to hear all is running well, I might install a/c this spring.

Actually spent a couple of hours working on my new shifter plate conversion (that I started playing with a year or two ago)
I had the plate for years (was going to change to a sst 5sp just when everything went sideways there a few years back)
Decided to use it to change to the leather boot style instead of the auto plastic slider, then like most things seem to go, decided to change the PRNDL over as well. Hopefully it'll get finished for this summer

But I made a spare blank insert that I can bolt in place JIC I don't get the electronics finished in time. Can't run the risk of loosing those few driving days we seem to get and I still need to finish the HEI install I started last October.....

"Both" cables? There should be 3 cables. There is another short negative cable up front on the passenger side.

Common mod for many, 14" wheel to replace the hula hoop (keeping the original of course). Has about 2" less dish as well. Much needed leg and thigh room resulted.

Looks Good, a smaller wheel is definitely worth doing for a better driving experience, imo.

Did you do it on a lift? Did ya drop the tranny? Tell me more. My positive cable's getting too short.

I'm positive about that, trying to avoid all negativity.

Yeah, I need that leg room. My knee is completely SIDEWAYS trying to press the brake pedal. Where'd you get that wheel?

Eckler's, no adaptor or bending of the turn signal stalk needed (on my '68), screwed right in. Of course, upon pulling the horn button I discovered I was missing two screws, one for the horn and one for the wheel. It is like socks in the dryer, the way little bits go missing. Here is the link to the wheel:

My Buddy and I just replaced the three cables on his '70. All we had to remove is the driveshaft. It's a little tedious in spots, but not that hard. You'll need a 1/4" drive ratchet, and some nitrile gloves if your underbody is greasy! We lubed the rubber bushings at the battery box with dishwashing soap and water to help them get into the tight fitting holes. I pushed the bushings from below and he pulled with pliers from above and the bushings popped right in. We also made sure we had bare metal and star type lock washers where the negative terminals connected to the frame. Afterwards, we schmeared a little dielectric grease over the terminals and bare metal.
While you're under there, make sure you still have the insulating matt, and foam collar above the transmission to help keep the heat out of the cabin.

John, you are correct, I had no more energy after the positive cable, that ground has to wait a bit, and its in better shape than the other two ,

While "I" did not do it to my C3 I made the decision, after a few weeks of contemplation, for the shop to fill the holes from the luggage rack while they are prepping car for paint. Tougher decision than i would have thought but finally determined if they do it this way I can always put it back on at any point....

I have changed my oil and filter in preparation for the Tuesday trip to the Tail of the Dragon.
Finally changed out the old faded door pulls for the repros that have been sitting in a box since last September.
After the mail arrives today, I will figure out how I should mount the faux-pro camera to video the ride.

Thank you John!
I am looking forward to driving the Tail and spending the day with my son, he’s been married and moved off, an hour away, for two years now.

It was sunny and near 70* so I took a ride.
Started out with the t-top on and quickly took them off.

Default USB Installation

I gave in again to the crowd. Actually it's a rather practical need nowadays. My question was where to mount it without messin up the interior's classic look.
I could not find a USB Cigar Lighter plug-in unit that allowed the door to close while in place. I've never smoked, this was the most concealed place, so .....

Door closes.

Went in here.

Thought this doodad was cool, giving me a voltage system readout.

Had a spare one of these. Not so much of a protection device, but as an ON-OFF switch.

Used some scrap .020 pieces for the backing. IIRC, the orange Lighter Socket wire has a closed eye terminal end which will fit the CB perfectly.

This had to be done before by others here, and I'd like to see what I missed, so feel free to show/comment.

Steve
