Ha!! Had a good laugh over that one as the same thing happened to me a few months ago. Turned out perfect after all that second guessing. I felt your pain as I read the post...

Had a vacuum leak for a while, minor leak. Checked all the cans and found the wiper safety switch in the wiper tray bad. It lasted 5 years - used maybe 8 times.

Of course the wiper by pass switch failed - so ordered a new one.

Finished up with the mechanical adjustments on my headlight buckets after the electric actuator conversion. No laziness to the opening and closing now! Hat tip to Richard454.

Installed new LED backup lights on my '69. After seeing how bright the Philips 1157 LED tail lights were, I decided to try their 1156 backup lights also. Actually, I already had some LED backups installed (Superbright LEDs), but I heard and read such good things about the Philips that I'd get some and compare, leaving the brighter ones in place. Well, WOW, the Philips blew the Superbrights away! Like comparing a searchlight to a candle. If you want backup lights that actually let you see behind you, I highly recommend the Philips 6000K 1156 LEDs.

These.......

Thinking about doing this conversion myself. Did you have to remove the hood or radiator to do this?

I finally installed my new neutral safety switch and got my horns working. Now I need to get the dash put back into place, remove old carpet and install new one.

Installed the wiper compartment cover that I have had sitting in the garage for about 6 years. I have mixed feelings on it, especially since you have to cut two small sections out of the cowl cross bar to install it. Its about 1/2" too short so there's a 3/8" gap on each side at the fender, and it all around doesn't fit very well. I used velcro to hold it on the front and double sided tape on the windshield side.

hey Ken- sent you an email

OK- have been trying to figure out a way to handle my dimmer switch- as I'm just not fond of the switch on the floor using my foot...

Flaming River has this- a micro-switch on the end of the turn signal- it's pretty cool- but not the $100 cool they want for it!!

I was looking at doing a switch on my turn signal- just use some Stainless steel tubing for the handle to run the wire inside...

$100?

So I thought of another Idea- the washer switch on wiper control- which is not going to be used. It's a momentary switch- and a I have a PAC TR-7 module- that will take the pulse to a constant output- turn the handle again and it takes the output and turns it off. I think I have $12 in it- and it's programmable!!

Anyway- here; the switch on the steering column and how I'll wire it -

I did not find it necessary to remove the hood, you will have to be very deliberate in working through the hood gap, a great deal of the work can be done from the bottom. Absolutely no need to remove the radiator, in whole a fairly simple job if you follow Richard’s instructions. The endeavor is well worthwhile in my opinion, I am not a stock only type of owner, I enjoy useful, reliable upgrades while maintaining a stock appearance.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of working from the bottom.

Two reasons:
  1. I did a lot of reading on this on another site (digital corvettes from memory) and the recommendation from a long time installer was the CAA.
  2. I liked the direct replacement controller for the console.

This appears to be a right hand drive Corvette.
Or am I imagining things?
