What did you do to your C3 today?

Melting Slicks
Made the drive into work at the GM Tech Center. Beautiful starry early morning. A bit chilly but was nice with the tops off.
Recently, GM renamed all the main streets on the site in memory of past GM Design and Engineering dignitaries.
Of course I got a photo of my C3 on Zora's boulevard which cuts an east-west path across the Tech Center.

Changed the rear differential fluid. Never done it in my life, not sure when the car ever had it done (I've owned the car 12 years now). Rear end chattered horrible once warmed up from the time I owned it basically.
Thanks to info from the forum I was able to find the right supplies, and fluids, and tackle this on my own pretty easily.
Took it out to pick up my son from daycare right after finishing and the rear end feels like a totally different car.

Ordered my Borgeson steering kit today. I found it at Summit Racing for $670.50. No shipping or tax. Sweet...

I just fitted/installed the chrome bumpers. Around 35 years ago the previous owner modified the body by installing a '76 tail light panel/clip on the car.....so I'm slowly converting the body to match the VIN, which is a 1968 convertible.
The good news is.......the guy didn't convert the hardtop into a coupe!

Safety Car
Drove my '77 around the block a couple of laps as an easy shake-down run after installing a 200-4R transmission.
I had no leaks or strange noises and nothing caught on fire.
Now I need to adjust the TV cable to get the shifts to suit me.

Went to the Good Guys Nationals in Pleasanton, CA on Sunday. I was surprised at the very low attendance. I'm not sure if it was the projected 108 degree heat or that Hot August Nights in Reno Nevada just ended. I only saw five Corvettes displayed at the show and all were very nice. The silver 63 split window won top awards.

This week we got the core support, radiator, shroud, fan/clutch and exhaust manifolds installed. I know some of you will not believe this, but this car which was born in October 7th 1968, and has a 1968 core support as well as a 1968 vacuum tank. And no, the car shows no sign of being wrecked or having the front clip replaced. That is why the video shows a radiator with a cap and no overflow keg. Some people have told me there is NO WAY a 69 Vette would have a 68 core support, but I am just telling you what I see. I had a hell of a time ordering a radiator and shroud by year make and model Here is the link to the latest video.

So the radiator support for my 68 BB coupe project has been sitting in the attic for a couple of years. It had been tweaked at some point in the car's past so I was thinking of buying a repro but it was going to be close to $400 so I re-thought that. A big hammer, some heat and some wooden blocks plus a couple hours of effort and it looked pretty good. I bolted it in for a test fit. It needs a "U" bracket on one side as that is rusted out, then some paint, but other wise I think it will do nicely. First two pics are the "before" phase.

Hey '75, thank you. I got the dollies on line can't remember right now what brand, was a few years ago. I can use them with tires on, or as I have it now bolted to the hub. They work well and roll easy enough I guess. Rolled easier before I put that lump of a motor back in!

Just received my new fiberglass 80-82 rear bumper from Next Level and i just slapped it on the car to see how much work it will take to fit it properly to the car.
It fits better than expected, plus compared to what it took to do the nose conversion, this is a cakewalk.
