To adjust the window- the factory had a guy on the outside holding the window in correct position with suction cups- as the guy inside tightened it down. Worked pretty good for me.

Here's what it looked like from the factory-

Yes ..I got a pair of suction cups, messed with till it was where it needed to be, tightened up all the bolts, but it still came down to the window channel not being correct and will not allow the window to slid up all the way.

The A/C shop in Gardnerville, NV. was the only Owner who knew the car. (He had a 1969) I also learned he had been working on Vetts since he was 18yr', So when I walked in and explained what I had done he knew the system, He asked to see the car, when I brought it in for him he ck'ed the A/C said it was good come back in the spring for a performance test. Said I needed a shorted A/C belt, gave me one, N/C. As he looked over the car he says you seem to be comfortable working on the car, so I guess you can install it. Later I sent him another belt. he's got an ego but that is ok.

Just click the yellow mountain and sun icon on the toolbar and drag a photo from your computer onto the screen that opens.
That ensures it stays in the thread no matter where CF goes and what happens to other servers.

Anyway, I taped them up so they wouldn't b eon the foil backing, even though I don't think there is power to them.
The rest was a pain. The insulation took too much room and has the wiring harness mashing into the controls and not wanting to sit right, so I had to move it all around to get the clearance.

I had a little freetime so I changed out the voltage regulator to see if that was the source of the crazy discharge/charge jumps back and forth.
I took one off a running car, and it seems to work. I am getting a lot of rapid movement with the needle on the ammeter, like I have AC and not DC running. I'm not sure if the alternator I put on a couple of days ago has a phase out (it was rebuilt by a local shop and been sitting on the shelf for a few months) or if the used regulator isn't really good either.
Anyway, I'm getting a new regulator tomorrow and putting this one back on the other car so it that continues, then I know the alternator has an issue.
After that, I took it for a night ride in the 34° weather (that's F, not C). quite brisk since the top was open in the back as the rear window was too cold to close all the way.

More parts arrived today for my 496.
Forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons, rings and all the goodies to get my rotating assembly together.
These will be stored up on the shelf until the resto/mod begins.

I replaced my gas tank. It was actually much easier than anticipated, as I only needed to push one muffler out of the qay an inch or so. No need to completely slide it, as instructed by the manual. I did learn that itnis much easier to fit it in place without the filler neck. Once it was in, I was able to place the filler neck from the top. Here are pictures of the old tank, and the rust hole.
The old tank was actually not original, and was thr incorrect tank. The car had an original vapor return line that was not on the tanl I removed. The replacement tank had the connection, so that system has been restored.

I found the wires. They are the wires for the stock standard heater switch with no air. Why they modify the harness is beyond me. I thought they had separate air and non-air harnesses.
Anyway, I taped them up so they wouldn't b eon the foil backing, even though I don't think there is power to them.
The rest was a pain. The insulation took too much room and has the wiring harness mashing into the controls and not wanting to sit right, so I had to move it all around to get the clearance.

What I did to my C-3 today
Some of you guys are very ambitious. I opened the hood for the first time. Looked around. Dealer apparently left the dipstick out when he checked it. Put it back in. Started a list of the projects I need/want to work on. This will be fun.

Without a little ambition or a whole lot of money these things can become door stops!

took it from being stored and working on interior doors,
locks, windows, dash half out console out for upgrade to
200 4r indicator and shifter notch to half azz
putting it together enough to be a daily driver.
seems my daily driver has issues with oil pressure.

My 75 didn't come with tilt steering, so I figured I'd install a 14in steering wheel for a better feel and maneuverability. While it feels better and makes getting in so much smoother, I'm not sure if I'm in love with it...
