What did you do to your C3 today?

Safety Car
During my braided stainless brake hose project last weekend, I found that the passenger front rotor had a large groove on the inboard surface.
Today I drilled out the rivets that were holding the rotor to the hub and replaced it with a new rotor I had on the parts shelf.
It took me 3 or 4 tries to get the rotor runout dialed in (I am a rookie and never done this before), but I got it down to less than .002".

After exploring several different avenues I finally decided (well hopefully) on where to mount a pair of auxiliary fuse blocks, one for the ignition and the other for accessories.
Both will be wired direct to the battery and controller by a pair of relays mounted beside the fuse panel.
Wires are already run to the battery through the console so now to start removing the in-line fuses all over the place and moving the various power wires that were overwhelming the fuse block over to their new home

Fix 2004R persistant leak
Seal where TV cable goes into the transmission kept leaking, 2nd time around a new seal seems to have fixed it but another inspection revealed a new leak started from the speedometer drive Had to drop the rear section of the exhaust and the trans crossmember to remove the drive, found the seal was installed backwards Couldn't get another seal for at least a week so put it back together correctly and road tested it, so far so good

Went to put the dash cam back in my 75 and reset the time/date and it popped the lighter fuse?
At 70 i had to just about stand on my head to get to the fuse box.

I got about 30 of the 40 helicoils in....
Need an extension for the tap....
Still have to get the rest of the gasket material off the block.
The oil pan is ready- when with some stainless steel hardware.
Windage tray is in-
Close to putting some oil in and firing it up part two!!!!

My new Ansen classic BB valve covers arrived. They are going up on the self for the 496.
Ansen manufactured these for a new order from "The Parts Place" in Illinois and were shipped out to them this week.
They aren't cheap, but the quality of workmanship is the best I've seen and more than worth the price.
They are baffled and mine came with the breathers and grommets.

Had good news from the Vette doctor today . Car had a pretty major drivetrain vibration so I replaced the drive shaft u joints and a very worn front yoke, bolted it all in. Was going to do half shaft u joints and happened to look up at the diff and right rear short shaft was out about an inch. Differentials are not my specialty so drove it to the doctor Monday to see what was going on, Ran a lot smoother on the trip but still not quite right. Call today was no damage, looked great inside but needed short shafts, a new half shaft flange and u-joints, he found the clip intact so he replaced the short shafts and the flange and he put in the new u-joints I brought. Also found out it's a 3.70 rear and original to the car. That explains why it always wants to go. With some luck back home tomorrow and she's ready for spring. Tim

Installed these today. From Hedman, ceramic coated. Still need to hook up the pipes somehow.

Undercoating
Started removing old undercoating from the wheel wells, then cleaning, painting, and applying two coats of truck bed coating. One down, three to go!
Posted an article on my blog with lots of pics.
