Service Manual vs Overhaul Manual
I'm looking to buy a service manual for a 73 Vette. Is the Service Manual the same thing as an Overhaul Manual?

From the ones I have bought...
From the ones I have bought, the overhaul manual tells you how to rebuild the engine, transmission, rear end, a/c compressor, the big items.
The service manual tells you everything else mostly.

The Overhaul manual covers the rebuilding of specific components of the car, like the a/c compressor, starter, etc...

Correct. The Service manual is meant to general maintenance on your car, from adjusting the power steering (if you have it) to bleeding the brakes, to aligning your headlights.
The Overhaul manual covers the rebuilding of specific components of the car, like the a/c compressor, starter, etc...

I would recommend to get both of them
