Hey! That paint job cost $5K back in the 1970's. Converting that to today's money, the paint job alone is worth $40K !!!

Maybe I'm just kinda hoping on a childhood memory. Lol
Check out post #6 in this link. Is this the same car? Looks like it could be.

My dad sent me a picture today of his friend's old car. This IS his old vette.

How many Vettes could there be out there with..
1. Same year & model
2. Same side pipes
3. Same wheels & exact same tires
4. Those 2 exact colors.
5. Exact same design, down to the flame location
6. Same desert mural painted on the tail fin.
7. And last but not least, How many vettes you ever seen with GTO taillights? Lol

I hope you don't mind but I tweaked your pic a little. I find it easier to look at when it's not rotated.

Looks like a perfect match to me. Although some don't like it, I'm loving it. It would be awesome to bring that one home and restore it back to all it's former glory. The perfect time capsule.

No, don't mind at all. I couldn't figure out how to flip it on here. Lol. Yes, it DEFINITELY is a time capsule. It would be awesome to have the $$ to rejuvinate it. Like you said, everyone either hates it, or loves it. There doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground with that car.

There were a lot of "customized" corvettes running around in the late 60's and 70's. The Firebird / GTO tail lights were popular. The paint was similar on many as was the "Monza" European Tail lights.

A large number had the Button Tuff interiors. It's a throw back for sure.

Dude i love the 70s and 80s color schemes, the paint was the main reason i bought my car, but it was the reason no one would buy it

Its worth it imo! Who wants a boring typical paint job
