1972 Barn Find Restoration
I located and purchased a 1972 Coupe that had the body lifted and left hanging for over ten years. I am the third owner of this car, first two guys were related and lost interest in the car. Frame was rotten so they located a 69 chassis that they intended to use for the car but it too was damaged and not a good candidate.
Here she hung for ten years in a barn.
Here she is lowered onto the chassis purchased for the car.
Interior is all original and covered in dust. I will clean it and assess the restoration to be completed in the months ahead.
This is a low option car built for speed and not for total comfort. This one does not have A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, no tilt/tele steering wheel and no power windows.
I will restore it to have power steering, a tilt and tell steering column and power brakes, all to make it a better handling and safer car on the road. Power windows and A/C will not be put on the car.
The engine, transmission, and body all have matching VIN numbers and the rear pumpkin, alternator, carburetor, all have the correct numbers and date codes for this car.
More plans being worked out now but this one has good bones to start off a nice restoration.
Thanks for watching.
David

Ontario Orange Original car, will be fun to have another "Orange" car in the stable.
The three cars in the stable now. 1971 restored green coupe, 1972 custom race car, and 1972 barn find orange coupe.
I am living the dream.

Dude, you're insane!
Too much money, too much time!
Of course I'm joking! Thanks for bringing them back to life, and another thanks for posting here to teach those in need!

If the #s match I don't see how it could have been a BB originally. Doesn't 72 have the engine listed in the serial number? More likely someone changed the yokes?

The 69 chassis will be built for the 72 racer perhaps, time will tell.
No BB, low optioned SB on this Ontario Orange.

I followed that car both times it listed on eBay. Think you got a good deal. I have too many projects and have experienced a few too many birthdays, or I would have been on it, too. Congrats

Light, Medium, What Do You Think?
Current color code is 421 Saddle Leather. I have been reading the posts about light saddle, medium saddle, dark saddle, and all of them seem to indicate that mixing and matching has become a problem for these cars.
Seats, door panels and carpet will all need to be changed in this car so I am considering replacing the interior but not certain which tan this may be. Thoughts out there would be welcomed.
What color is it???
