Default C3's are expensive; even more expensive if you have to pay someone.

This is my 78 that I have been working on since April. I have installed the Skip White 383 with the Mad Dog 700r4.

To date I have 122 hours invested. I only work on it the weekends mostly Saturday and some on Sunday. Parts chase during the week.

I have disassembled cleaned painted and reassembled the full under carrage.

The car is on the ground and now its the little stuff.

This forum over the years has been a great contributor. I find many answers without asking.

Attached photos will bring you to date.

Frame painted with POR15

Thanks Bats!

Yeah. I now how it can be for some. This forum can help many with just a little mechanical skill, a lot of patents, a few "F" bombs, and Pandora it can be done.

I have 130 hours in it now. Little more to go. Then body paint.

I'm impressed you only have 130 hours into it considering all the work done. It would have taken me about 500 hrs.

I get on a role and do 9 to 11 hours on a Saturday and from 4 to 6 on a Sunday. These cars seem simple but there are a lot of parts.

I can appreciate the guys who do the full body off.

That looks awesome. The front suspension looks good with powdercoated part and POR 15.
Are the front spring powdercoated, painted or POR 15 and did you sand blast or hand sand them? I m just taking the body off my 68 and plan on cleaning up everything when I replace the frame. I have a major break in the frame at the drivers side rear kick up.

Springs are POR 15. I just removed any loose scale and painted them. The rest of the suspension is POR 15 excluding the A Arms.

Same with rear Suspension. POR 15 excluding the half shafts.

Well the parts all look great. I now plan on using POR after seeing how good your parts look. I will do some research on how to prep it but the end result looks great

The POR 15 is very easy to use. Goes directly on bare metal. Likes a rough surface. Realy nice on cast parts. I ckeaned everything with Naptha. The POR brushed on like urithane and leveled out real good. Seem to be very durable. I used gloss black on all the steel and satin black on the under body. Having the "A" Arms powder coated then building them myself was much cheaper than purchasing a set all done. And I used Moog tierods, idler and ball joints.
I plan to drive this car and wanted my effort to not only last but look good a while. All my cotter pins are stainless.

If you've done all that in only 122 hours, put yourself in the "AMAZING" category. (I think I have that many hours just in filling in 'paint dings'!)

Great work. You have obviously mastered the philosophy that "it's the JOURNEY" that is important...not only the completion of it.
