Am I missing something?

The entire car is repainted ontario orange, but the door jams are still original metallic yellow?

That would bother me a heck of a lot more than what the trim tag numbers say.

Enjoyed your post, but enjoyed the picture of the young man on the Corvette. We were just looking at old VHS tapes with our oldest son in 1972 sitting on his Corvette. Hope you've still got it!

OK, lets try it this way...

Has anyone ever seen a Metallic Yellow 1973 Corvette with a Midnight Blue interior. How about a Yellow 1973 with Midnight Blue, or an Orange 1973 with a Midnight Blue interior.

I think this is a typo / inaccurate information in the GM literature, and then subsequently in the Corvette Black Book (among others).

I suspect that the interior trim combinations for Metallic Yellow should be Bk (black) or Ms (Medium Saddle).

It would not be the first time that inaccurate info appeared in GM literature.

We all know that in 1971 the CJK engine code was for an LT-1 engine with an automatic transmission. It says so right in the GM Parts and Accessories catalog.

I have looked at a lot of 1973 Corvettes; I was part of the 1973-1974 NCRS Judging Manual team. I don't ever recall seeing a yellow (either shade) or orange 1973 Corvette with a Midnight Blue interior.

Anyone have a picture of one?

Sounds like a good research project.

I used to own a 73 convertible with 953 paint, and 422 trim.

I think the "recommended combination of 952/953 paint (Yellow, Metallic Yellow) with a Trim of 413 (Midnight Blue Vinyl) is a mistake / misprint / error in the GM documentation.

I have never seen a 1973 with this color combination, and I am not sure I want to.

Typo in the Black Book. GM would NEVER have put a blue interior into a yellow car...unless it was a special order and paid up-front.
