All brackets have been removed including the welded rear seatbelt anchors, #4 mounts, and front seat anchors. Then I flipped the body on its side and began the disgusting job if sanding the entire under carriage. I ended the day by power washing the entire body.

There are issues in the nose and rear of the car. Fiberglass work is not up to my desired standards.
A plan will be developed to correct these issues.
AND...a decision has been taken to eliminate the three light arrangement. More on that soon.

Love the rotisserie for doing all the underneath work. Will make things so much more easier. Well done David.

Not sure what I did wrong last night to have my pictures flip sideways, but sorry about that. Here is the rear light panel outside, and inside, showing the shoddy workmanship that was done by the PO. Now that I know I have to repair this work I will remove that third light and go back to the standard two lights used on the 72 Corvette. Will see how this all works in the future, but for now I am just fixing all the mounting brackets and braces. Rotisserie will only be up through the weekend per a promise to my neighbors, then it will come back down so I need to get as much done outside the garage as I can, then the body on the sub frame will go back into the garage for continued work.
Might go up on the lift, that would help. Anyway, sorry about the flip.
I removed six of these and hopeful to get four good ones after I attempt to restore them. I was going to buy new ones but found that at $55 each that would be a $440 expense plus shipping that really isn't necessary. Even if I can only salvage two or three of them, that saves some money, so it would be worth it. Oh, and the rear license plate light is toast, so it will go in the garbage.
More tonight and thanks again for watching.

I had visitors today and it was great to see Jonathan Care and Dwight King again, and to meet Justin Care this time as well. Great folks, great fun, thanks again for coming North of the Mason Dixon.
I cleaned up the 72 racer chassis today and identified parts I want to do a better job before tightening this all up.
I think it enjoyed being out in the sun today.
Starter came from Summit racing so time to get it installed, finish up the fuel lines, get a carb plumbed, put the radiator on it and see if she will fire. Soon.

I will be up shortly to do the fuel lines and regulator. The fuel tank for the Cobra is done and picking that up tomorrow. I have the rough body work done on th eCobra so we need to plan a trip to Leroys. Did he mention when the frame would be done?

Funny you would say that Tim. Yesterday the Rotisserie was sold to another forum member that came to see my project collection at the Howard Corvette Museum. 71 Corvette Coupe "Sparty"; 69 Corvette Coupe "Goldie" (GoVetteGo Car); 72 Road Shark Chassis; 72 Road Shark Body on Rotisserie; and 68 Corvette Rolling Chassis (ChazDe3 Car).
My focus will be on correcting the bad fiberglass work on the rear clip and front clip of the racer body; finish the fuel line plumbing on the racer chassis; put them together for the first time.
Lots going on here at the Howard homestead, which is the way I prefer to have it.
Others might weigh in on the rotisserie as they saw me using it, but what a life saver it was to own and use.

Depending upon options you can get one like mine for about $1,500.
Mine has the Corvette sub frame that the car sits on either on, or off, the rotisserie.
There are eight (8) upright support rods that can mount to the front of the radiator core, and body mounts 1, 2, 3, and 4. I have them mounted to the front radiator area, body mounts 2 and 3, and will mount to #4 when I get the new ones installed.

I helped my son move today and got home, the sun came out and I thought "no better time than now to get that rear panel off the car", so that is what I did.
I have new hand laid panels on order and will establish what I need to do next to put them on the car when they arrive.
It took fifteen minutes, literally, and very little effort to get these improperly mounted lights off the car. I can assure you all that when I go back to the stock looking rear panel it will be done correctly.
Looks better already.
More as it happens.
