Monday will be spent final adjusting the rack attack rack and pinion steering on the 72 road shark in anticipation of the body mounting this week.
I off loaded the chassis from my trailer and moved it into the center bay of the garage today.
Then I positioned my scissor lift underneath the frame and brought the nose up where I can work on the rack attack with the wheels suspended.
The scissor lift has a lock mechanism on it so it cannot close up when the air is disconnected and the wheels are chocked and the gantry crane will be connected to the frame as a back up to prevent the chassis from coming down on me. Safety first.
Will share pictures tomorrow.
Oh, 8-1/2" wheels are on the front end of the chassis now, and I have the 10" to test out when the body is on the chassis and then see what I need to do to make it work well. But more on that later.
Cheers.
David

Adjustment of the bracket completed today, I had installed it incorrectly and had to invert it and reinstall it here today.
Inverted, Installed Incorrectly.
Now it is installed correctly and working very well.
Today I will do some front wheel and spacer evaluation, select my front wheels for the transport and wrap that up before loading back onto the trailer.
Thanks for watching. If I have anything more to share on the wheel and tire selection and fitment I will post them here later today.
Thanks again.

Arrived at the body shop today and jumped in on the front fixed lights. Kit lenses were not made well so we are modifying them for a better fit.

Your car's looking good, and coming along nicely. Here's a little more inspiration for you.
The vintage racer I crew for, just picked this 69 up a few weeks ago, and we ran it at Watkins Glen last week for the first time. The car has no real race history, as it was built about 3 years ago, from a tired 69 street car, but has the right "look", and runs pretty good. Jim usually prefers cars with real race history, so he probably won't keep it long, but until then we'll run it at few vintage events this year, and have some fun with it.

I took the chassis to West Virginia Tuesday and we began the process of preparing it and the body for marriage.
The is the owner of K&L Auto Body, and my friend, Leroy Wennerberg. Leroy not only owns the business, he is a craftsman with automotive work. His signature is all over my car when you look at the details of his work.
Leroy, Gordon, and Ed working on the body in final prep for marrying to the chassis. Lifting off the body dolly using a two post lift.
The front end getting some addition work on the fixed headlights while the body to chassis match is shimmed and bolted down for the final time.
Doors on and setting down on the wheel dollies checking fitments. Doors are installed and adjusted for fit and function.
Marriage complete we put the car on the floor and final fit the doors and hood.
Two pictures of the car loaded onto my trailer for bringing home.
I always like to get a picture of the car with the owner of the shop before hauling it home. Here is Leroy (right) with my good friend Gordon (left) with the car just before I closed up the trailer and headed home.
I am home now, got home about 7:30 pm last night, only opened the trailer side door long enough to show my wife Tammy. She loved the car.
Much to do between now and the finish line but this was a significant step in the process. Next I will take the car to "Seven Wraps" for photographing and dimensioning so the graphic wrap work can begin.
Then back home for my work to begin.
I think I need to make a list.
Thanks for watching.

Almost seems a sin to cover that shine with a wrap.......although I'm sure what you have in mind will be even more stunning. Great job and continued success my friend.

We all had a fun day working with the car. Leroy and Ed have painted my Vette and now my Cobra. Both stunning cars and Davids car is no exception. These guys are a hoot to work with and Leroy and his wife Kathy are great hosts. The scenery from his front porch is just awesome and his shop is top notch. Now the work on Davids car really begins. Assembling all the fun pieces back together to get this thing moving under its own power. Should be a fun ride.
