Great work David.
I'm a new member but have been on CF for a while. I followed your build of sparty and was simply amazed.
Do you still have sparty ?
Thanks
Andy

Seven Wraps Now Has the 72 Road Race Replica.
It is sitting in the same location as the car in the opening page of their web site. You can see it here.

I can only assume you are wrapping it similar to your recently updated profile picture? I can't wait to see it done!

First the car will be wrapped completely in white to put on the "base" color of the car.
The car is then dimensioned and the design is outlined on the white for photographs.
Once that is completed a template of my car will be made and computer generated artwork can be developed. The dark color (not yet chosen) can then be changed on the computer simulator and I can see conceptually what each might look like finished on the car.
From those graphics I will chose the final design and have the car wrapped with the final design.
The car number would be included in the second layer of film, the number "72" has been selected to be unique to this car.
The final layer, layer three, will contain graphics that don't need to be permanent to the car such as suppliers that have assisted me with the build. Those will be a material that is easier to remove.
One point of note is the material can be made permanent by applying a clear coat over the graphics if the owner wishes. Haven't made that decision yet, soon, but not yet.
Thanks for asking.

Seems almost a shame to me to cover it when it looks so killer in black, but I am biased a little that way... I'm sure it will look awesome though, can't wait to see it!

Day one pictures just arrived and I wanted to post them here for you.
Just two pictures, but you can quickly see how this will transform the cars look.
I'll share more when I get more.
Thanks for coming along on this journey with me.
Best regards,
David Howard

An update for Wednesday, or day two of application. Won't be too long before we start seeing a design showing up and some color as well.
More soon.

We will be extending the wrap to the back edge of the clear lenses for the light covers so the light fixtures wont be visible when the lens covers are in place. That will happen this week as well. Now we dimension the car to make a template and begin the graphic design layout.
Wrapping a car in a single color is much less tedious then what we are doing with the racer, but printed graphics should look great on the finished car.
More soon.
