Woke up early this morning to take a "walk about" and checked out the snow status. Coming down hard now with wind, garage doors not able to keep all the snow out with the head on wind (a new future project to correct this now) and we have quite a bit, how much I don't know yet but it must have snowed all night.
Sorry about the wine John, would run some down to you but not in the cards today.
Stay warm and stay safe everyone, be over in about 36 hours.

If it is powder you can use your leaf blower to get it gone. If it is wet snow, well then, enjoy some wine and wait for warmer weather.

Totes, Totes, and More Totes
I am fortunate that my daughter worked for a custom injection molder that molded boxes (totes) for the GM parts division and was able to purchase some of the "defective" units for me. These have graphic, hinge, or short of plastic in certain locations that do not affect the functionality of the parts, just the cosmetics. I have ten of these totes, I could use another ten, but that is another story.
Here is how they are used from time to time.
This rats nest of wires are all the wires removed from the 1972 Road Shark. None of this will be put back into service on the car, all new wiring has been purchased and will be used. Connectors will be saved. Future project.
Here are the internal plastic a/c and heater pipes from the 72 Road Shark. These will be saved until I know what I don't need. I bought a Vintage Air setup and it comes with some of the piping and vents, time will tell how much of this stays or goes.
You all must have a similar pile of parts sitting around after you work on your cars. This is what I call brackets and pulley's and it is an accumulation from five cars. I'll sort through these during this snow storm and see what I have. Always fun to identify and see if I can figure them out.
Here are a bunch of new parts I have accumulated from the various car builds. Need to sort these and make a plan for their use or get rid of them. Lots of stuff in here, need to organize it.
These are the totes in use now for the 72 coupe project. They sure save me a lot of time and by numbering them I can inventory what is in the tote and know where to go find the parts when I need them. Some call it ****, I just call it organized. Keeps me from getting lost.
These are tough, can handle the weight, and can be stacked five or six high without issue. I even put them on a furniture dolly if I need to move them around and they are too heavy. Get yourself some totes, you will be glad you did.
Have a good day.

That would make a cool emblem for sure. I am fortunate that my paint shop specializes in custom paint as well as stock paint with a motto "From Frames to Flames" so I am anxious to speak with them about the options when I can get there next. Maybe after the snow melts a little bit (a week or so).
Great idea, thanks.

I got my parts back from Bonehead Powder Coating today and they did a great job of covering my chrome trim parts for the 72 Road Shark. I am very happy with how they turned out. If you have powder coating needs I can highly recommend these folks, they are terrific and affordable.
Best regards,

Thanks Chuck. The fixed headlights will be blacked out as well. Same with the side louvers, front grille, back vent grilles, and everything you see here.
Them coming along nicely. Hope to have much more to show this Spring after paint.

They will indeed. It'll be key that the paint finish and colour works in harmony with the blacked out items.

Absolutely agree. The road shark will be a tad bit ominous in appearance, or at least that is the goal...If I had any graphic arts talent I would try to mock up some ideas for the car and make the paint selection a bit easier.
Any of you know of software that can work well for a simple guy like me to do some of this type of playing? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I thought they did a good job with Jimmy Johnson's 71' Vette. IMO the gun metal blackout accents look good with this color. I believe they used some carbon fiber as well. I can't wait to see your car finished!!

I think I will be a little darker gray than this Jimmy Johnson car but the idea is very similar.
Thank you for sharing.

With the weather less than favorable in the garage I have moved some of my work to my basement work shop and worked for a couple of hours on the fixed light assemblies.
This is the fixed assembly before I took it apart and had it powder coated. This one does not show the headlight cups installed.
This is from yesterday afternoon. It shows the reassembled fixture with the headlight cups installed. I want to paint the plastic clips and adjustment screws black before finalizing the assembly but this will give you the idea. Blackened out, just like the trim. I like the look.
Lights will be installed after paint which is being picked to match or closely match the matte black look I have going on here now.
More soon. Thanks for following along.
