You and me both, and thank you for the compliment.

Foot progress is slow and steady, as it should be, with intermittent days of pushing it a little too much and icing it afterwards. But well on the way to healing.

I am working on my punch list now. Publishing soon. Thanks for watching.

Default Need a name ---

After a long time constructing the 72 Road Race Replica I have come to the point where I would really like to name, or nickname, the car.

I have called it the 72 racer, and 72 road racer, for most of the build. I thought about Road Shark at one time and a friend keeps calling it Land Shark

So let me get your help. Any of these appeal to you for the car?

1) Road Shark
2) Land Shark
3) Road Beast
4) Land Beast
5) Franken-Beast
6) Franken-Shark
7) Road and Track Beast
8) YOU PICK ONE OF THESE OR ADD YOUR OWN IDEA.

Seriously, just not sure what I want to call it yet. It has a bit of a Dr. Jeckel, Mr. Hyde persona too.

Thank you for any help.

I have had the pleasure of taking a few friends around and under the Road Racer and I appreciate all the comments and suggestions they have made. Thank you gentlemen.

I have a punch list started now and have begun to inventory all the parts I have here at home in bins and totes and I am matching the parts I have with the punch list of items yet to install.

Anything that I have and don't need goes in a tote to sell later area.

Anything I need but don't have goes on the "order soon" list.

Everything else is need and have, those are being staged and will be moved to my racks near the car soon.

Thus far I only have six items I need, and they are small items, and I have more bins to check before confirming I don't have those parts, but it is coming along and as they say "It Won't Be Long" before I am installing and not inventorying parts.

If anyone else is in the area and would like an up front visual "tour" or wants to get their hands dirty helping on some installations let me know. I rarely turn down good help.

Thanks for looking and more soon.

David

David,

I wish I was closer, I would love to help you finish her up! Look forward to watching you wrap her up. Hopefully your foot is getting better and you are able to get back and forth.

I'd vote for Land Shark, or Candygram. It looks very nice. I'm glad to hear you are closer to being back on both feet.

Can you tell us who redid your steering wheel? I am looking to do the same to a 79 wheel. Please feel free to PM me if you prefer not to publicize this person

Thanks!

I apologize but I cannot locate the name of the person that wrapped it for me. I will continue to look and feel badly about it but I have to sort through a lot of papers to see if I can find it.

Sorry about that.

Default Good News, And Bad News

The good news is I got my hood installed today and it looks great.

The bad news is I have interferences with two items under the hood. The air cleaner has plenty of space so that is not the issue. 1) The power steering reservoir is too tall and is hitting the hood; and 2) the hydraulic clutch reservoir is sitting where the hood dips down so it will have to be relocated.

Better to know this now than later.

I saw threads earlier about the reservoirs and need to look those up now to see how they resolved them.

Always something when you go custom.

David

PS: Anybody else having trouble posting good threads now on the CF because the picture editor has been changed?

David, I looked at it when I was there yesterday and I think you might be able to loosen the clamp on the above reservoir and lower it. Could not see what was below it but MAYBE?????

Bottom of the canister.

Canister mounts directly to pump using a 90 degree elbow. Will have to figure out another way to do this.

I was hoping the same John but it didn't move so I took it out and now I know why. This is the bottom of the canister and it mounts to the pump with a 90 degree fitting and the pump is mounted for the serpentine system.

Is it the camera angle or is the fitting on the bottom of the tank out of round?
How much clearance do you need for the hood to close?
Could you mount the canister to the radiator support, next to the radiator and run your lines from the pump without interference?
Do they make a shorter canister?
