You'll notice this is the wiring mess I've been posting about and the wiper motor as well. The motor is a 72 LT1 with a M21 behind it

The Wiper door actuator was in a box behind the seat. The PO couldn't figure out the system so he used speaker wire and ran a hot line to the motor and bypassed everything which fried the switch

more to come. I know alot of the weatherstripping is wrong and there is a few minor things I need to figure out. Every day I find something to work on. I flipped the shifter because it was in backwards and wouldn't fully engage third as it hit the bezel in r,1,3. I adjusted the top so it would lock in the back, which still isn't perfect, info on that would be appreciated, and my dad and I got it so the windows would seal the back and top. the power steering return hose was loose and leaking, and the transmission extension housing bushing needs replacing. It runs really rich so I need to adjust that this weekend. The top doesn't look professionally installed and the AIM says there should be another weather strip across the front but I don't see it in any suppliers catalogs

Great looking Corvette! Congratulations and welcome aboard. I like the double blue/blue exterior-interior, as well as it's an LT1 and a stick shift too. Great combo.
Yep, you've got wiring problems! From what I see, you might want to just order a completely new engine harness, because that looks totally hacked and jacked. Bubba had a field day! I see some really strange wiring, going to a ground on the steering on the drivers's side? Plus all the butt connectors (they always come loose).
Hopefully, what's under the dash, is better than this, but you should inspect it closely. If you're going to do this yourself, I highly recommend spending the $130 on a Power Probe III to help you check out the circuits, as well as the AIM (for correct wire placement), the Factory Service Manual or FSM and finally, a good laminated wiring diagram. These will be highly helpful as you go through this.

RR, seriously, taking another look at the wiring, I wouldn't even dare drive this Corvette. I see many short circuit possibilities, taped wiring, crazy routing (like loose wires by the exhaust pipe). Don't get me wrong, you have a beautiful, awesome looking car, but I'd hate to see it catch fire or breakdown somewhere you don't want to.
Ask me how I know, because my wiring under the dash, was just like that and driving home, it started smoking and I was fortunate enough to be able to pull over and quickly disconnect the battery, while smoke was still filling the cabin.

I'm glad you took such great pictures! Really, because it might just save your beautiful Corvette from going up in smoke! I'd rather point what I see, than see you suffer serious problems, with such a nice car!
Don't drive it, until you fix or replace (what I'd recommend) all of this!

Nice looking car, and I'll bet you enjoy the sound of the sidepipes!
Good advice on the wiring from F22, it really can pose some headaches and potential risks from the images shown, but the good news is it can all be remedied.
Enjoy the ride..

I hope you don't take some of these posts personally. Your car is a few weekends of tinkering away from being even more awesome than it already is.
You're going to have a blast fixing this one up.

Thanks to all. I've ordered the laminated wiring diagram, downloaded a digital one here as well. Have a bunch of info on the wiper system. And yes I am taking it all as constructive criticism. I am going to be ordering the engine wiring harness as well as the cabin one. I don't think he got to the rear harness. I am going to disconnect a lot of that mess this week. Most of it is a work around on the wiper system, he used speaker wire for that. Thanks again to all. I especially don't want a fire either.
Ive already ordered the complete wiper vacuum system and new motor. I am making a list as I go. I figure I can work on it a little over the winter and finish most of the problems next summer

the pic with the top stowed, the AIM shows another piece of weather striping on the very front, where do I find one? And on the drivers door you will notice an extra piece glued at the back pillar. That was because he didn't know how to adjust the roof, I've since removed it and adjusted the roof so the only gap is at the top
