Thanks for the encouragement Bats, I'm doing well and feeling pretty good about how its coming along.
I'm glad to hear you've had an upswing and some good luck with your car!
Yes, the 68/69 fender vents are my favourite C3 fender vents. I got a set of chrome inserts for them a few days ago.

Some more work done on shaping the lower quarter panels on the 79 to match the 70-73 rear quarter panels. I had some areas to fill in from the previous lamination that were too low and a large void in the lamination at the area shown by the green arrow.
I needed to thicken up the lower quarter panels on the 79 to move the horizontal mid quarter panel character line downwards on the 79 to match where it is on the 70-73 rear:
I used the air sander below to do the initial sanding of the lamination:
I sanded too much off the upper deck in places with that air sander so I had to add more glass and resin as shown in the picture below. The area where the pink lines are just before the ducktail is the lowest part of the 70-73 ACI rear clip. I thought I was done with the laminations on the inside of the body in the gas tank area but as I was sanding I noticed the ACI upper deck is higher just above the pink arrows compared to where I joined it to the 79 so I'll need to sand and lower that part of the ACI upper deck to get a smooth transition to the 79 upper deck. That meant adding more material to the inside area of the ACI upper deck so it won't get too thin. :
I sanded as much as I could on the 79's lower quarter panels to get the right shape but had to stop early as I realized I needed to level the car again to know precisely where to make the mid quarter panel horizontal character lines:
I'm pretty close to having all the shaping of the rear of the car done. I had hoped to complete it before this weekend as Hubby wants the garage for the winter so the 79 is going into storage until May 2018. We put it in the car box for the winter yesterday so I'm done working on it for now:
I've been driving this beauty (admit it, you're jealous!) up until now because I didn't want to leave the Eagle sitting on the street in the snow and rain:
I hate to stop work now when I'm nearing completing the conversion on the rear of the car but as a consolation I'm going to be able to drive my pride and joy again - I really missed it!

Snow, what's that. Your project is coming along very nicely. All of the angles or offsets now really look great. Keep it up!

Hi,
I'm sorry to read you need to stop for a while.
At least it comes at a time that you can feel you have the work on the rear of the body 'under control'!
May will be here pretty quickly!
Regards,
Alan

Yes, you're right. I'm glad that I'm close to completing the rear of the car which I figure is the hardest part and I think that makes me around halfway done. As you say May will probably be here before I know it.

Priya,
As stated by others....the time will go rather quickly. And with otehr project that you can focus on...that will also make it seem like you never stopped.

Look at it this way....with the experience you've gained and the winter to plan the completion of the rear half.....your have 75% of the work done/the front end will be a piece of cake!

I think you could be right Doorgunner but I'm telling myself I'll be halfway done when I complete the rear end so if the front end goes better I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks for your support

I'm all for trying to work on your project at least one hour a day, even if it's just staring at it plotting the next move.
I also am practical in the sense that circumstances can and do come up, to prevent that from happening.
You've made some great head way on your project, this delay will give you plenty of time to plot your next moves, and provide a resurgence for your build.
Thanks for the postings you've done, looking forward to future updates on your project.

Thanks Tokim, I've been feeling a little stressed today about not being able to work on it for half a year but my husband's truck needs some rust repairs. I told him I could do them in about four months but he keeps saying he can do it in a weekend

Love the AMC, a 400 SBC fits right in. Don't ask how I know.
Enjoy the rest time and make some sketches. Before I built a heated shop to work in I used the winter for parts scrounging and planning.
The work looks great . Fantastic workmanship and crafting...

Hey, Priya,
Just wanted to let you know this thread is why I joined these forums in the first place. The work you done on your '79 is truly inspirational.
I'm still reading my way through the thread, currently on page 10, but I just had to peek ahead to see where you're at now.
While my plans for the rear end of my '76 are quire different from yours, I still find this thread quite interesting, and I'm picking up some valuable info along the way. Thanks for sharing, and I'll be keeping an eye out on your progress. Looking forward to seeing this car finished. Good luck!
