Blue Decal on inner door:
Curious if anyone knows a company that reproduces the GM decal on inner driver door jamb area.

There are reproductions available.
None of the reproductions are completely accurate.
Even if you are able to create a completely accurate label, you'll still need a way to reproduce an accurate VIN imprint (and it IS an imprint through roughly the 1971 calendar year).

Anyone in possession of their correct, matching Protecto Plate (POP), already has the accurate VIN imprint. As these numbers on the blue sticker/label were directly printed/stamped from these cards. I have a picture of my 71blue label, that shows the lower line of print from the card along the bottom edge of the label. IIRC, Reba was using this photo to teach, and I thought include in the JM?

Here's one more that shows more than just the label. Also shown is some interesting factory paint results! This is from an all original 18,xxx mile car.
As Stan says after finding the closest label, imprinting the numbers can be a challenge!

The labels look the same but by 73 it contained a lot more info. Between the "MFD BY..." And the body text the included the weights. Then at the bottom they had the VIN followed by " PASSANGER CAR".

The style shown by Tom73 started during the 1972 model year (towards the end of the 1971 calendar year).
This style WAS done by some type of mechanical type machine. Of course, the issue with these labels is that the various weights change depending upon the body style and the installed options.

It's cool to be able to show exactly how the factory turned out these machines.
Double edged sword, owning a Bowtie car, nice and original, but now hate to drive and damage these two time capsules......Need a new Z06

Love seeing real survivors. Very nice.

PS- I am very jealous of those original decals. Mine had to be a repro. Decal. Original was long gone on my 70.

Here are the door stickers on our '76 we are fixing up. Originally code 13 Silver it was repainted red and, thankfully, the painter masked over the stickers.
Been a very interesting thread. Thanks all for sharing your pics and info!

Both stickers. Any idea when GM quit making the sticker blue?
Surprisingly they did not mask off the tag.

I could never own an all original car like that. I need to drive them. I would not be a good purveyor of ease for such a car. I truly commend anyone that can do that

The road behind my house was recently paved. Nice, straight, flat, just over 1/4 mi strip. It's so damn tempting! I marked off 100' increments, until 1320', from the Stop sign. Now, for a Xmas tree and finish line camera!
Back to the OP's topic, sorry for the highjack!
