New 70-72 ls5 owners thread

Hey. Congrats on buying that yellow LS5. It’s a beautiful car. A while back I picked up a scgm/ blue interior convertible LS5 4 speed numbers matching everything car that is so fun to drive I hate putting it away for the winter. I tried uploading pics last night but had no luck with it. I’m stating to think I must be a paying member in order to put picks up. Not really sure. When my kids stop over I’ll have them help me out.

My kids came over and made me feel like an idiot, they had these pics up in seconds after I spent a week trying. Anyway, this is my LS5 convertible special order car. Steel cities gray with royal blue interior, Matching numbers all.

Yep, That’s my convertible. I put a deposit on it then and the seller held it for me while I sold my L78 chevelle. He’s a hell of a guy to hold that for me. I’m thrilled to death with the car. It had an economy carb on it which was killing the car but the original was in the back. I rebuilt it and put it on and the car absolutely screams now. It’s not an LS6 but it’s close.

Love the Steel Cities over Med Blue... beautiful, looks like you have really nice original paint as well... clay bar it and then Meguires Number 7 show car glaze it has no abrasives what so ever and keeps the lacquer hydrated.

The paint looks good from 20 ft but its checked in a lot of places with huge spider webs so it all needs to be sanded down and re painted. That will be done soon. The person who had it before me tried his best to maintain the car but it became to much for him because he didn’t do any work himself. He paid to have everything done. New calipers, rotors, brake lines, fuel pump, water pump, radiator, and so much more. I have the receipts and it’s a small fortune. I do everything myself and love doing it. El cheapo.
