Default California Stingrays & The Mother Lode Corvettes Summer BBQ

The California Stingrays and the Mother Lode Corvettes will be hosting a summer BBQ in Beautiful Sonora CA. All generation Corvettes are welcome. This will be a great way to kick off the 2016 summer season!

Date; 6-25-2016
Place; Steve & Riki's in Sonora CA
Time; All day, come anytime, or cruise in with a group.
This post will be up-dated with more details, if anyone has questions, just ask

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly
This event will be limited to just twenty (20) cars

Tony, (yellow1980) has posted a cruise route, times and stopping points near the bottom of this first page.

This event will be a "Pot-Luck", type event, so bring your favorite dish, (with food in it, not just the dish) to share. We will supply light drinks, munchies, etc. things like that.

For our friends that will be staying in the area more than one day, we recommend the "Aladdin Motor Inn" on Mono Way.

Put the top down and keep moving. That's what I do. Black interior makes it HOT.

Ok...So.....I'm probably gonna get beat up over this (again) especially if that Les feller is listing in but......Count me in, won't be sporting the mighty C-3 so..... worry not, I'm willing to park a few blocks away as to not embarrass you guys. This run is about the same time we were planning our vacation to Bass Lake; and being as there will be three of us and the C-3 only accommodates two, I'm left either driving the pickup or...... the Prius.......Yeah....I know.......A Prius.

A Prius???? A Prius???? You, sir, are an impostor!!! This is just another long winded tale to cover up the fact that you don't really own a Corvette of any sort. I think it's very charitable of the others to let you tag along on these trips and at least pretend that you have one. You probably make VROOOM VROOOM noises when you drive your Prius.

I do think it would be best if you drive the pickup. That way when large parts start falling off of "somebody's" C3 they can just throw them in the bed of the truck to get them home instead of using baling wire for a shady tree quick fix.

Tod, even though you've never owned a Vette, I'm looking forward to seeing you.

Alright Les, so ya figured me out; truth be told I actually did own a Corvette when I was much younger. It was a little red one, shiny, clean, fast....the chicks really dug it, sadly I lost it in my sandbox shortly after my sixth birthday. When I turned fifty I went in for my first colonoscopy, oddly enough during the procedure a technician found both the car and an Evil Knievel doll that I once cherished so. Not much worse for wear and other than a little mud on the tires the car looked to be in pretty good shape, can't say so much for the Evil doll, (had quite the look of despair on his face). Although at one time both items that had been retrieved meant a great deal to me, I offered both to the tech as a token of my appreciation. The tech accepted my generous offerings and placed them atop a small circular file in the operating room. As I walked out of the room I glanced over my shoulder at them just one last time, wondering if I would ever see them again....All this time I carried them with me, such memories.

The Southern California guys allow me to run with them simply for my entertainment value (and my car trailer)...... Great group of guys they are, I'm just happy to be a part.

Note to self; never wear lose fitting shorts while playing in the sandbox.

Steve,

If there is any way that I can pull this off, I'd love to join the group. I have a lot of travel scheduled around there and I need to have the Vette in Tahoe the following weekend for the 4th. Maybe I could rent a Prius for the weekend

Very nice of you to offer up your place for this event!
