Pictures from AutoRama 2016 -- Detroit
So my son and I checked out Autorama yesterday, and we thought the Forum might want to check out the vettes we saw there, too. The C3's come first, because that's the section of the Forum I most often frequent, but I figured you'd all like to see them all. Enjoy!
Corvette Forum's own Cruise Davy G's Yellow Beauty
The CSX 94.7 StoneSoup Project from last year (I think)
If anyone else attended and caught a shot of one I might have missed or has any other photos you'd like to include from the show, feel free to add 'em on.
And gang, if you like customs and have never been to Autorama, put it on your calendar for next year. The Ridler cars were amazing and the craftsmanship of the artists responsible for these cars is off the charts. It was like the Superbowl of car shows.

Thanks very much!
It's always fun to see cars that I haven't seen before!
Serious amounts of skill and money in those cars!!!!
Regards,
Alan

I wish I would have gone, my friend that was going with me bailed Saturday and my wife got home late from work Sunday and in a grumpy mood so I missed both days. I didn't feel like going alone. Those are some sweet vettes that I missed.

My pleasure, Alan. Yeah, Chad, sorry you missed it.
There was a ton of time and money put into those cars, for certain. Fantastic cars.
I'd love to hear which of these members like the best. Tough choice.

Hi Wes! Yes, it's tough to choose just one. My son said he'd drive that Orange 66 every Halloween for the rest of his life. That made me laugh. The sign said all original, but the must have not been considering color. Looked like the C6 Atomic Orange to me. Nice ride.
Honestly, I love customs, so I was really impressed by the last silver C1 on the thread: "Mirage" I think they called it. The attention to detail everywhere, including underneath, and the odd spoiler were just so cool.
Cruisin Davie G's yellow C3 was spectacular, too. The interior alone had to take 3 years. Unbelievable.
They were all really special cars. I even liked the completely original, unrestored 61 they were raffling off for charity. Raffle ends in September, after they restore it to original. Check out the 94.7WCSX website if interested. $10 tickets. (By the way, I'm not affiliated in any way with the raffle or the show, just sharing. Just figured vetteheads like me might be interested.)

Great pics Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great mix of Vettes.
Did that 63 SWC have a Z06/LS7 motor in it? It looks like a car that belonged to a friend of mine here in the Northeast. He sold it at Mecum a few years ago.

Thanks for the great pictures. While I love the red '63 I find the gray FI convertible very interesting. That's got great color choices and the wheels and redlines work perfectly with the paint.

I'm glad so many of you are digging the photos... Truth is, they pale in comparison to leaning over the fender and peering into the engine bay... But I know this forum is world wide and a lot of members simply could not attend.
I did the same thing with the Autoshow when the C7 debuted and the Woodward Dream Cruise the last couple years. There are some great reasons to be in Michigan and these rank right up there. It is my pleasure to share the events around here in so far as I can.
