Lombard street
And we did have to cruise through Haight street, trying to get some more of that 60s feeling, my favorite time for cars and music. There are still a few old Hippies around waving ("69, that was our year man"). Even the cops were smiling and didn't blink an eye to my illegal turn and stopping at the intersection.

The hill before Lombard St. is crazy to drive with a stick.

What a great road trip, despite all the "back road drama" lol But, that comes with the territory. Thanks to everyone who came along and a special thanks to Martin and Kate for putting up with us and Tony G. for organizing this event . . . . .
Can't wait to see you here again!

It has been a great adventure for me to see other places in my Nation through the eyes and the lens of Forum friends!

Here are Maria and Tony G's photo from our Cruise/GTG with Martin and Kate.
We had a great time cruising and getting together with our friends. Glad we could make this a special day with our friends from across the pond. We look forward to hosting another Cruise/GTG with you the next time you come out here for a visit.
Tony A. and Tony G waiting for the group to catch up. Talking about the bike riders taking up the road.

These two images brought back a lot of memories for me.
The first reminded me of when we first moved to the Bay Area. I had rented a full sized car to move all of our junk from the airport and just kept it for a month. A couple of friends took us on tours of the city and quite often, I couldn't see the street below because of the long hood. I can imagine that you must have experienced the same thing with your Vette.
The second pic is far more embarrassing. A buddy from Toronto was visiting for the first time. I took him on my usual circuit around the bay and that included a trip down Lombard street in my LeBaron convertible. What I didn't know was that the brakes were getting worn so they scraped against the rotors the whole bumper to bumper trip down the hill with the top down and what felt like millions of eyes looking at me
Thanks for the fantastic pictures!

Cruising with the California Stingrays was a highlight for us. After being on the road for so long it was awesome to have at least 5 Corvettes in front and 5 in my rear view mirror for a day. You're a great bunch to spend a Sunday with
It's about time we play catch up with our pictures, too. We've been lazy far too long. So here goes:
On Monday, we left Mill Valley to make our way back to L.A. Slowly of course, no need to rush after what we heard on the news about the temperatures down there.
But better be prepared for the heat and we only got redneck A/C (=Ice Bag in the passenger foot area). But thank goodness for these life saving cupholders. And don't you all dare to make fun of them . You don't know the feeling of getting an ice cold drink when the sun has been shining on your hat for a couple of hours.
Lunch at one of our favorite watering holes, the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. No beer for the driver though.

Can you fall in love with a road? Well ok, with a car maybe, but still....
Wake up call on the 17 Mile Drive. Some pretty nice homes there. And the beach isn't too shabby either.
Stingray on the road looking onto the sea
We staid in the Big Sur Big River Inn. A tourist place but a nice one nonetheless. Great breakfast overlooking the river.
Cooling off with a beer or two for the head and the river for the feet.
We have to say we're sorry at this point:
We got so many invitations to meet with the great people of this forum on this trip. It's one of the real downsides that it's been almost impossible to insert more than a stop or two so far. We're travelling on a schedule and the lost week in Salt Lake City really threw us off. We hope when we get back another time that we'll have more time.
