Very cool. you mentioned early on about not being able to post pics but they are in your profile. can you copy them to a post now?. I agree with other responses, Id contact the museum for any assistance they can provide and, don't wash it. Great, awesome piece of history. Love the vintage stuff

I think people who say "don't wash it" have been watching a lot of Antiques Roadshow.

I'm loving this story, and hoping it's all true. I suspect the OP truly is overwhelmed by the response. I'm guessing he thought the car was sort of cool, and now people are suggesting he contact the Corvette Museum. It's a lot to process.

Oh, and count me in with those who say it would be great to keep the two Corvettes together. Heck, they're good friends!

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but the '71 doesn't look like it's actually towing the trailer to me.

Note the black pipe nipple and the galvanized elbow in between the tunnels. Good stuff.

What a great story, thank you Pvirg for allowing us to experience this with you. We are all intrigued and living vicariously through you. To the board, yes we are all excited and anxious to know more, but we need to let him do this in his own way in his own time. Keep in mind that this is more than just a barn find to Pvirg, it's a tribute to a friend...

Who said it was used as a tow car? If so, would love to see the hitch and to what it was attached. Makes for an interesting photo if nothing else. The LT-1 owners must love it.

Anybody know what this is? Was in the passenger seat

May not be for the car, just curious to see if anyone knows. Some tape of seal

Read the headlines of the OP's post in other news sites and getting back here to read the details.

What a fascinating barn find. Sure takes me back to my early days of hangin' out at the local dragstrip and checking out the racers. Love that tunnel ram with a pair of Dominators sitting in the wind and the early fuel delivery engineering...!

Clearly, this is mostly a great story of how true friends show respect to each other. I hope that I will respond the same as Pvirg has, if the situation ever arises.

Keep the pics coming and let's see how this project unfolds.
