Looks like the General won by 2 -1 over the next entry. Congrats!
I voted the first day then tried to vote again but it wouldn't let me. Not even after I claimed to be a dead voter.

LOL! Only 1 free ham per voter not vote. Seriously thank you and a thank you to everyone. When I checked this morning I could not believe the support. Makes me feel better about spending so much time and $$$$$$ on a car very few people have seen in person and let me just say it’s not relaxing to drive (yet) At least not for the 15 ft I’ve driven it, serious pucker factor!
Again THANK YOU EVERYONE!
THE GENERAL LIVES!

Corvette of the year
Well the General came in as an underdog in the C3 vote because of YOU! BIG THANK YOU!
Now it’s moved on to Corvette of the year. This will be a tough one but would love to see the General put up a good fight.

Now for an update on the car.
As of several months ago or so I decided to pull the ZL1 out of the General. My fear of messing it up with a blind start pushed me in the direction. I took the motor to Carl the owner of Houchins automotive specialties. Carl who had seen about everything in all his years running a machine shop was excited to work on it. After tearing the motor down he found that a mouse had built a nest on top of one of the pistons! That was removed and the motor was rebuilt. I believe I’ve covered some of the cool parts findings in prior posts, if not let me know and I’ll list them again. The motor was broken in on the dyno and ready to install. Carl did an outstanding job. The General was then taken to Dillon with D and D performance. He went over the entire car. The car was returned to me running and driving with lights, brakes... working. Cant say enough about Dillion and his work, he went above and beyond. The car home at this point has received new slicks as I just didn’t trust the old ones, and some light cleaning.
The General has a very nasty attitude and loves to knock stuff off my walls, shelves, workbench.. I’m concerned for my concrete floors. I have backed it out of the garage and driven it back on the 4 post. It’s straight up NASTY.
I didn’t make the Street rod nationals with it but plan on the Lexington KY Good Guys show in October. Hope to borrow the LT1 tow car and tow the General on its original trailer into the show. Would love to meet some of you guys at the show.
A couple of of things I’ve been taught by the General so far.
Ear plugs are a must
Open headers and an open battery door spell a cab full of racing gas exhaust
Adult diapers are recommended for some the first time they hear it.
Questions?
I will give info/background on how Doyle, the General and I met soon and othes updates to follow.
More to come...
Thank you everyone for all the help and support

The General is definitely the C3 of the year. The rest are all gorgeous cars. But this guy has a name, a history, etc. Hell, he even has a whole section named after him in this forum. C3 General!

Well folks, The General is now in the running for corvette of the year. Post # 814 has the link to voting which closes in a couple weeks. With close to 1/2 million views WE should certainly be able to propel it to the top. Let's do it and show every other C- _ who the real boss is. Mark
