Default 1976 Corvette Wire

Does anybody know what this wire goes to? The car Had the wire on it when we got it. The wire runs under the dash. It’s disconnected on both ends. And there is no obvious places for it to plug in. My guess is the previous owner had something and took dit out when he sold it.

Where it starts

where it ends.

Yes, that is all aftermarket wiring. I would remove it.

I think your assumption is correct. The molded plug does not look like OEM GM. The other end is half of an inline fuse holder and a generic wire end usually used for grounding. Chip.
