Default New Guy from North Georgia

Thanks for adding me to the forum. I just bought my 2and Corvette a couple of weeks ago and am learning about the C3.I have a Red 81 with 93000 miles on it and in good condition. The glass t-tops are cracked and I found a set from a 77 model that are solid .I don't know if they will fit my car so I came here for advice before buying them and paying for shipping from NY. I'm sure some of you know the answer to my problem and thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Post pics of your car and post your question in the C3 section of the forum.

Both the 77 and your 81 are C3s, so they should be a mutual fit.

Welcome to the Forum, Jorge, and congratulations on your C3!
I agree with Vette DD about checking with the C3 community. My first reaction is that you would have to change over to the 1968-1977 hardware. Chevy made several changes to the 1978-1982 T-tops (but this is from an old history class ), so I would recommend double checking this with the C3 experts. (And maybe it was 1977-1982, but thinking 1978).
Best wishes with your new ride!

You would need to change the hardware. 68-77 used dual latches on the tops while the 78-82 used a single latch at the front of the top that also actuated a pin that locks in the rear at the B-pillar.
