Default 1978 canadian silver anniversary

Hey forum, i have a question. My Corvettes speedometer and tachometer are designed from the factory for Kilometers over mph, also i have this transport sticker on my door jam.

I guess what i'm asking is, is there a way to find out how many were made for the Canadian market? I'm always trying to find out more about my 'Vette. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Gary.

Your best source would be GM Motors of Canada that has a reputation for maintaining the history of USA-built vehicles shipped to Canada from the U.S. Its vintage vehicle services has provided build sheets to not only Chevelle owners but Corvette owners as well. They may very well have the number your seek. I have never come across a U.S. Source that tracked Canadian built Corvettes.

Hope this helps!

When I bought my vette back in 1988 I sent my vin to GM Canada in Oshawa looking for info. They sent me a copy of a computer printout sheet (18"x10" or whatever the size used back then) listing a page full of vin's (mine included, of course) with all the std/optional equipment listed. I still have it in my files. I heard that they don't provide this info anymore but that's just rumour. Anyway, a simple phone call to GM Canada might yield results for the info on Cdn vettes.

If George is still in business, this is the kind of info you will get. I drove the 1979 from 1986 to 2003.

Hi L82... Would you happen to have another picture showing where on the door jamb this sticker is? I'm just trying to figure out where exactly it is.

Thanks,
Denis

The Black Book says 4515 78s went to Canada. In all likelihood, that number included regular production cars, SAs, and PCs.

There never were any......Corvettes of that era were ALL made in St. Louis, until production was transferred to Bowling Green.

No exact numbers, but as a rule of thumb, about 10% of the Corvettes were Canadian cars each year.
